Focusing on one outfit usually makes that outfit end up much better than the average joe / bar of acceptability. Downside is, it's the only outfit with any thought put into it whereas normiebrains can generally build a far more versatile wardrobe overall

Autistic girls usually layer with thrifted stuff, overdoing it but in a way, being a dandy. So they benefit by being unique. Autistic men wear shirts that say NIKE on it, with shorts.

I am diagnosed autistic. It helps because you're incredibly fussy about what you wear and how it's styled. All of my colours face to work together, all of my texture choices have to work together, all of my patterns have to work together and my layering has to be on point. You adhere to strict styling rules, and your wardrobe is generally very curated. I've also been hyper focused on fashion for decades now and consume a lot of content.

Yes. I too wear a jacket constantly, because I don't like the sensation of my arms being exposed.

Im also very autistic about colour coordination. Essentially, I only wear red and black, and sometimes small bits of white. I've tried expanding before, but it just never sits right with me.

I also prefer to wear boots all the time. Usually Chelsea boots because I don't have to tie them

Oh, and I can't wear t-shirts or jeans, or chinos, or shorts, etc. etc.

It creates more outliers. Someone who is self-aware of their eccentricities and trying to hide them might wear an NPC costume that is so generic that even the average person looks experimental by comparison. On the other hand, someone might be unable to tell what is normal or good-looking and just put on anything without any thought. It can lead to genius but a lot of time it just leads to stupidity.
