Is tailoring dead? Even world leaders just buy whatever is on sale at the local mall.

It's probably because people reee about politicians doing anything that takes time away from work. They get dragged for going to dinners or whatever and the whole "your tax dollars" thing happens, so a fitted suit would again be "he has time to stand around and have his clothes tailored but not fix the homeless problem??"

World leaders wear shit suits on purpose in order to look more relatable.
And other rich people mostly abandonned suits altogether.

So yeah, tailoring is less prevalent than in the past.

Yes, because nobody has any class, honor, or self-respect anymore. We live in an untermensch negrified world. The people behave like uncivilized proles and the leader behave like proles because they represent them, come from them and want to appease them despite rising up in ranks. We no longer have a class of leaders who were raised and bred to be leaders from childhood for generations. It's just proles as far as the eye can see.

He would have been really trendy-looking in 2010s America. I don't know if suits are supposed to have changed much since then, or what.

World leaders today are essentially forbidden from good tailoring.
David Cameron, prime minister of the UK once proudly boasted of wearing a cheap suit, pic related. They try to relate to the people, any display or wealth or taste is bad PR

The other "fashion leaders" are rich people, celebrities, actors, etc. And these people have all abandoned the suit, either as a power play to say "look at me, I'm so rich I don't need to follow social rules" or they simply never knew them to begin with, many newer rich people were just regular dudes who go rich without having to earn it in the old fashioned way, of being in with the aristocracy.

With nobody left to promote the suit as an icon of fashion, it's no wonder it died out so quickly

I think it's also an educational thing. Boomers were the first generation to ditch suits for more casual clothing. Their children, Gen Y/Millennials, were never taught by their fathers about proper dress codes so they continued the casual trend. Gen X were the grunge generation so enough said there. So by the time lil zoom came along there was no hope left.

Couple all of the above with tailoring becoming a lost art. Manufacturers cutting costs to the bare minimum, and pushing shitty uncomfortable synthetic suits and we end up here today with the suit getting a bad rep because most people never had a good one to begin with. It's like comparing a cheap cotton hoody with a wool sweater. Sure they both do the same thing but one is always going to be better than the other.

I hate that people see him in his $300-$400 dollar t-shirts and think "wow he's just like me"

Meanwhile some dude in a thrift suit costing $10 is seen as flaunting wealth if it fit well or larping as rich if it doesn't.

Its literally the second most popular global leader of 2024 after Trump and the most influential Islamic thinker since Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The real world isn't a game like Crusader Kings II or Europa Universalis IV, my friendo. You'll never be a king, a landed noble, or even a warlord. Forget about it. It's over. Just accept it and move on. Get a well-paying job, find a good GF on Tinder or Hinge, or consider some IRL options, like hobby groups etc. Get married, have a child, and live your life like everyone else your age. Almost 9 billion people live on this planet right now, and everybody wants to be special and rule the world, yeah, like in that Tears for Fears song. But 99.9999999% of them will never rule even their own village or city. The sooner you realize this, the better it will be for your mental and physical health. Peace!

The one and only time I went to a tailor, I went to the best tailor in my city to get a proper suit for my graduation. He took all my measurements to the mm. I paid him 400€. I ended up looking like shit with the suit being way too tight around my shoulders and opening up when I would move my arms. Fucking gay faggot tailor piece of shit.
