I'm looking to buy a new backpack for university and I've always wanted the Kanken. I have heavy books (Law school) and my laptop is 14 inches.

Is it worth it? I really like the style

Its meant for schoolchildren its not going to have any support for your heavy books. Its not gonna look cute and boxy, its instead going to look saggy and gay and its going to cut into your shoulders like a bitch because the straps are just 2 plastic straps. Last year I saw a guy in his mid-late 20s wearing this backpack in orange/brown and he looked so good. this backpack (specially in yellow color) used to be popular among a certain type of annoying girl a few years ago so thats why people have negative opinions about it but I think its a very cute backpack. I considered buying one but i dont like logos so I ended up buying a canvas tote bag instead. Maybe i can buy a kanken and rip off the logo. buy it if you like it and don’t listen to anyone

Hi OP, everyone in this thread is a retard or faggot so I thought I'd come and actually answer.

Kankens are trendy and cool among students, probably the top tier looks-wise. They're also a bit douchey - normies will for the most part think it's cool, but a very small percentage of people (autist basementdwellers on one side, truly /fa/ snobs on the other) will judge you for it.

As far as comfort, it won't beat a proper function-over-form backpack. But you're probably just wearing it for between 5 and 20 mins at a time between lectures/public transport, so you'll probably survive.


Also, you didn't need to say the books were because you were at law school. Telling people you're a law student/lawyer non sequitur is douchey too.

Hey, thanks for the positive feedback. To be honest, I really like them because I think they look cool. But I'm afraid bit concerned how comfortable they will be. I have a long 20 minute walk every day, with the last 5 minutes uphill, so I also would like comfort. I also have back problems it's constantly sore/in pain.

And totally true about the law school non-sequitur, I didn't mean to be douchey though, i just wanted to emphasize that the books are large and heavy and annoying to carry. I'll try to stay away from mentioning it
