Millennial fashion was pure try-hard. Comfort didn’t matter. The goal was to wear something tight that hugged every curve like a second skin.

Gen Z just doesn’t care and that’s why it works. Baggy jeans, thrifted puffers, slip dresses that say they rolled out of bed and still look good. Chunky sneakers, loafers, weird layering. It's chaotic but cool. No effort, all attitude. And above all, it’s comfortable.

I've noticed a lot of Millennial women quietly switch over to Gen Z fashion and pretend they never dressed like that in the first place and a part of me is thankful because they looked terrible.

I think it's harder to pull of the baggy look. Most people our age can't do it OP.
I struggled for a long time to make my baggy jeans look good but I don't think I can do it. It's much easier to wear a baggy top + skinny jeans.
It's also a cuter look overall. I'm with millennial geezers on this

My fellow zoomie I have no clue what country you're in but in the US people our age do in fact dress like whores. There's nothing elegant about Gen Z fashion.
People over the past few decades have started dressing more 'slutty'. Probably because of (((influences))) that can be hard to perceive at first.

wtf are you talking about bro
since summer started I began to believe that opaque pants have completely disappeared from this planet
every zoomette I see out there (the ones whose ass is worth looking at anyway) wears a visible dark thong under a pair of white semi transparent pants and after pointing it out to a couple of them, to my surprise, they got ashamed of it and said they didn't notice or hoped nobody else would

>What Made Millennial Style So Cringe Next to Gen Z

their women aging out of being young and sexy. That's it. Its never about the fashion, but the hot young body. You ever think why the porn stache and mullet (before zoomer Chadlets re-invented it) was seen as a staple of bad trashy fashion? Because the guys who kept wearing it aged out of being cute and young and became your disgusting pervy uncles. It took a whole generation of clean shaven emo/scene milenials for us to forget how bad it looked. Now that these guys are aging out of being cute and desirable, the zoomer brings back the mullet and pornstache as hot and sexy, albeit in a "ironic" way. But they to will age out, and their look will be cringed upon the moment their collagen levels start depleting.

They didn’t. Marketing came up with it and people believed the hype. There haven’t been organic trends since the 80’s. Everything has been viral marketing since.

>>18496893
Skinny jeans took off around 2005 but they weren’t mainstream to the point of everyone wearing them. Only emo kids wore them. However, slim fit was fully mainstream thanks to Hollister and Abercrombie. Around that time, especially in California, you were told to throw out your JNCO and Southpole jeans from Mervyn’s and Penny’s and make the switch or forever be ostracized. Same with Dickies. Those were a no-no. Hell, middle parting was frowned upon. By this time, everyone was donning the emo LITE variant from Tilly’s which was more of a skater look.

To be honest, it sucked. I didn’t want to wear skinny jeans. I thought it was wrong to see a boy in black jeans for girls and eyeliner. I got shit for not joining the bandwagon… until 2010 when I caved in from being alone.

Just like skinny jeans nobody wore JNCO and baggy jeans in the 2000s besides a couple of subcultures. The majority wore bootcut and straight leg jeans. Slim fit by the end of 2000s was also a modification of bootcut jeans (slim in the thighs, flaring out down the knees). But instead of a pronounced flare, slim fit modified bootcut to have a much more subtle flare.

People in general dress better now than 15-20 years ago. Now you can buy anything and everything on the internet and you can follow what's trendy too.
Before you had to make do with what was around locally and inspiration came from tv and magazines.
The downside is the lack of organic local fashion and subculture. There's basically no isolation leaving room for these things to develop and grow undisturbed.

What? In what world do zoomers not care? Their worldview is the opposite of effortless. They try so hard to look cool, they don't thrift, they buy brand new deep blue baggy jeans and bright white faux running shoes, they wear more jewelry than any generation before, they're even more obsessed with logos and patches and brands than millennials. Leggings and sneakers are literally "I just got out of bed" clothes, while loafers are a perfect example of when people don't know what's ironic anymore. There's been studies showing that zoomers buy more luxury goods, big companies and Chinese websites are at their peak. Your statements couldn't be further from the truth. I know several guys under 20 who spend hundreds in clothing each month, no one was doing that when I was that age apart from a few fashion-obsessed sluts. Millennial fashion sucked because it was lazy and sloppy, zoomer fashion sucks because everything is contrived and insincere.

Every generation does the opposite of the inmediately previous generation. Late gen-xers and early millennials wore loose fit, younger millennials wore slim fits, and thus, zoomers go for loose and baggy fits. I assume slim fits will come back in style in about ten years tops, maybe less, because we're burning through trends like crazy.

Then stop buying from malls, you fag. Get your shit online, preferably directly from the manufacturer. That way you cut the middlemen and get everything for like 1/4th the price from a brick and mortar store.

And there are 1000s of brands today. You've more choice now than ever before. Stop being a brandfag consoomer who only buys popular brands. Brand names don't matter. They're all manufactured in the same Chinese and Bangladeshi sweatshops, but get slapped with different labels and their prices marked up depending upon the brand value of the brand.

No. Zoomers and millennials are just too uncultured untermensch to know how to wear baggy pants properly. Ask your grandpa how to do it. Baggy pants are supposed to be pleated, ironed and hemmed/cuffed to give them proper structure. You don't swim in them like a degenerate hobo.

Zoomers and millennials not only don't iron their pants, they are also too retarded to know where their pants should rest, thanks to nearly 2 decades of low rise trend. So they sag mid and high rise pants (which is what most baggy pants are) up to their crotch like subhumans, making the pants look even more baggy and badly structured because the parts of the pants are resting in the wrong places.

Yeah, I have no idea why they hate colors so much. And it's a worldwide phenomenon. They're all dressed in black, grey, or white. Maybe navy blue if they're feeling bold that day. And it's always sweatpants, hoodies and plain t-shirts.

In the previous decades it would have been almost impossible to find two people in a high school wearing the same clothes. There would always be something different. A different pattern on button up or polo shirt, different graphic prints on t-shirts (that came in pretty much every color and shade), patches/embroideries, fade patterns and distressing on jeans, etc.

In 5 years time it will be your turn. Unless we all put down the pitchforks placed into our hands by bad faith journalists paid off by corporations and unite so that Alpha doesn't speedrun into midlife crisis at 14 like our generations did. Millennials and Zoomers aren't all that different to begin with, and our differences become more arbitrary as we all cross the over 25 mark. It's not too late for your generation to avoid being caught on your ass and suddenly branded old and outdated, but if your hubris continues to blind you then oh well good luck. The intelligent Zoomers who already caught on that they're being manipulated to create an artificial divide between "generations" that will eventually be used against them have my affection and respect though.

Because he is thin. And your waist is supposed to be narrow. Your torso isn't meant to be built like a fridge, like the kind of look men try to create these days with low rise pants. That red line in pic is where his waist actually is, not at the belt sagging at his crotch. It's a bit clearer on the shirtless guy.

Yeah, a lot of these zoomer pants are full on 100% polyester in a pretty thin fabric, like their sweatpants. So they are pretty floppy and never hold their shape.
