You could consider incorporating safari shirts and camp shirts (I think a variant without epaulettes) into your wardrobe. They are the kinds of rugged outdoors shirts you may be after. Classic workwear shirts in general can give you want you want, especially when paired with non-denim pants. A brown leather flight jacket would be good, too.
