Fallen from Grace
Brut Archives used to have the majority of their original products made in France or in Europe or even by specialist manufacturers in South Korea. I have some of their older original shirts and they're really nice. But now they're charging the same prices for shit made in China by some random no name factory. If it was made by some kind of Chinese wool artisan with a history of jumper making I'd be fine with that, but I doubt it is.

they had some really cool stuff in the past. it was decently priced and had sovl. it was hand sewn, too. I still have some of their workshop pieces.
this is really a travesty when I can buy an artisanal euro made cashmere sweater for 240. not saying that china is bad, bronson is a cool brand, norlha is a cool brand. red rocket is a cool brand. many good chinese brands from china, but generally chinese production for other brands remains subpar, especially for the price. you know these frog eaters do not have the capacity to actually collaborate with chinese makers and instead just talk to their friends in established brands for the cheapest factory.
that fact that they don't write lambswool also concerns me. knitted wool from where? knitted in china.

and they've never fixed the damn ugly design. with brut it's always hit or miss and especially this shit was always garbage, but at least it was made in europe.

they just sold out.

didn't even read your post before replying but that's it. if brut had collaborate with something like norlha and made Their Brut(tm) sweater for 330€ and collaborate with a turkish or portuguese maker for Their Brut(tm) light sweater for 130€ I would've understood that. but no, they just fucking mess it up.

The originals iirc were made in Portugal with wool sourced from either Shetlands or a similar place. The pink listing still has the old description which has more soul and care about the product. No idea why they've done this, unless they just completely sold out over the last three years.

I am also mourning the loss of this brand. They have always been hit or miss but nonetheless they were a cool brand doing their own thing, but now they sell extremely overpriced made in china shit. Their style really hasn't changed much, but them swtiching to china has made me loss all trust in this brand. I still like some of their rework pieces that are made in paris but I no longer feel they warrant paying 400+ eur as not only has their brand value decreased but I can't stop thinking where else are they cutting corners. Idk I don't even want to wear the stuff I own from them anymore.

They have some amazing vintage inspired graphic sweats and hoodies but they're crazy expensive for what they are. But this is modern fashion and I hate it.

I began to worry once they started releasing new items every week. 165e for a printed graphic sweat made in china, ridiculous. I still love the alpine jacket even though it was overpriced for what it is, great material and fit.
