Hello, /fit/fags. I've been using /fat/ and /fph/ as a motivation to lose fat and so fat I've lost about 15lbs by doing an aggressive calorie deficit and by practicing handball 3x a week. I'm now 82kg at 170 cm, 25% BF and looking into joining a gym that's right next to my house, but I'm afraid of people's judgment and making the wrong execution of exercises.

I would appreciate if the anons could motivate me ;-;. Maybe tell the story of your first gym months. Also, please share tips for beginners.

Go during the vampire hours until you feel more comfortable.

There's very little judgement in most gyms. Just do a basic beginner's program, embrace the slight embarassment that comes with putting yourself out there, and before you know it you'll realize you stop caring if people judge you.

>instead of thinking he's leaving a positive first impression cuz he's a fatass turning his life around
>instead of leaving an even better impression if he actually sticks to gymming

Ye this desu. There's a fat fuck that goes at the same hours as I do. But he goes fucking hard when he's there and I respect him, even if he is a fat fuck.

>making the wrong execution of exercises
usually when you first sign up, your first training session will be guided by a trainer who shows you how to do the exercises and checks your form

I went there and had no idea what to do and the gym was completely packed with people. I went to the closest empty machine, did few reps and my anxiety got so bad I had to leave. Few days later I went back there in the middle of the night and tried all kinds of machines still having no idea what to do. I found a split online and then slowly started doing that. Eventually I built enough confidence to go there during normal hours.

>Hit each muscle group twice a week
>Every set to failure
>Keep reps in 8-15reps for compound exercises. 12-30reps for isolation.
>Do 6-10 sets to failure per muscle group per week
>1.5-2g protein per body weight (kg). 50g fats. Rest carbs.
>Aim at 1000kcal daily deficit, you're always going to eat more than planned so it should give you enough room for error.
>Weight yourself every morning after peeing.
>Do not give a fuck what other people think. I was the noob at the gym and now I'm the most aesthetic guy while the rest look the equally as shit as when I started.

Go to the gym and pick three machines that you're sure you know how you're supposed to use them. They have images and instructions on them. Set the weight to something light the first time so you can practice doing the motion correctly. Do 5 sets of 5 reps on one machine, take a break, then go do 5x5 on the next machine that you picked out. This is a 100% normal way to use the gym and you don't have to be self conscious about doing something wrong.
After you get comfortable doing this, you can branch out and try new machines. You will build some muscle but more importantly you will see how others are using the gym and you won't feel self conscious anymore. A lot of people on this board will suggest that free weights are better, you can level up to those when you're feeling comfortable.

Even on this god forsaken website /fph/ doesn't ridicule fat people who are actively working on bettering themselves. You'll be fine brother.

dude stop, I'm recommending he do something easy to understand and will make him look like a normie, he's not trying to get muscle gains he's trying to get don't-be-autistic-at-the-gym gains. He's going to look retarded doing 2x30.

Some gyms near me like 24 hour fitness offer a one-time coaching session included with your gym membership. I'd recommend comparing the benefits of gym membership in your local area. Something like a free session could be an invaluable tool to getting more familiar with the equipment at your specific gym, having someone coach your form, etc.
