If a top priority is progressing lifts or making muscle gains, you should eat before the gym. Otherwise it doesn't matter too much.

I'm currently just losing weight so I could do either but I eat 1 cup of greek yogurt for breakfast then go to the gym 1-2 hours later

I don't eat before gym, I usually go about an hour after I wake up. I'm fat though so I have stores to tap into.

I have never eaten before the gym now that you have mentioned it. I eat a third or fourth meal before bed. Drink caffeine in the morning. Poop. Go to the gym. >>76246011
So you usually go on a full stomach?

I cannot, I feel bloated and groggy if I do. Maybe because I'm a fat fuck.

Unless you're a skinny fuck, yes it would be retarded.

This is the way. Something light like this is perfect.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I don't find Mike more insufferable than any other fitness influencer. In fact, I believe he is quite smart but his ego drags him down quite a lot, hell, he's basically a /fit/ guy irl

Pretty much this. They're all insufferable, and the longer they stay in the industry, the more they try to game the algorithm, which makes them more insufferable.

People who train fasted don't train hard. Imagine having to bench 4pates fasted or squatting 6plates without eating first. Nobody does that, only geeks who do fasted cardio and shit like that.

Yep. Fitness isn't that complicated.
>Get enough sleep.
>Eat enough protein.
>Eat the right amount of cals for your goals.
>Pick a routine that allows you to get 10-20 sets per muscle per week, ideally hitting each muscle at least 2x/wk.
>Train hard and add a rep/weight as often as possible.
But if fitness influencers just told you all that, they'd run out of content to make.
So instead they slowly dripfeed you good info, at best.
Or at worst, they prematurely hop on every fad inspired by some new study, only to walk it back later, or just straight up spread bullshit and constantly contradict themselves to churn out more content slop.

I eat a meal about 4 hours prior, and then a small protein snack about an hour prior. It's just what works for me. If I don't, I feel incredibly weak and feel pretty ill if I'm going hard.

A banana, maybe some yoghurt and berries. I go first thing in the morning and I want a little something in my stomach, but not much.
