thanks brother ive always valued aesthetics overall but ive had a couple mass phases where i lost the abs so i dont obsess over it.

you have some decent quad separation and the size is proportionate to your hips waist and calves, i think a good bulk phase would give you just enough size to where you wont lose it when you do cut down to really get the visible veins and striations. you could achieve that now obviously without bulking but you might lose a bit too much size and having small legs on a frame in comparison to the upper is always terrible

Honestly I only started a proper โ€˜shoulder dayโ€™ about a year ago. I was focused on big 3 for years, Iโ€™m a rippetoe fag. I guess just the regular stuff, press, lat raises, upright rows, lots of rear delt work with cables. The only advice I have that worked a bit for me - 3 sets of raises for each set of press. I think guys press too much and neglect raises.

Yeah I considered this but I've spammed abs during my bulk, weighted crunches, leg raises and some ab roller work.
I don't feel my abs as much after doing OHP and weighted pullups so they're stronger and grown a bit too I'd imagine.

I start with several sets of planks and side planks with leg raises, and one-legged bridges on a mat. Then lots of lunges with dumbbells, hip abductor machine. Important to do it all stably and avoid forceful hip tilts/rotations. I can only do light squats since losing control is too dangerous. So nothing super heavy for the lower back, but I try to hit glutes, hip abductors harder. Turns out they really matter for stabilizing the lower back. Upper body I'll usually do squats and pull-ups, maybe chest presses.

My injury is an L5-S1 disc herniation. Happened 2.5 years ago. Felt like this first true encounter with aging and frailty. Can be excruciating, but it's worse to stop exercising, moving.

Just started eating less. I'm already physically active, most of my adult life hovering around 80 kilos, didn't feel the need to fix it because my face and personality were "enough". Then a streak of: covid, war, close family dying, heartbreak, alcoholism, so I blew up to 97kg, then decided to take back my life. Started counting calories mor or less to eat 1500-2000 a day and lost it pretty quickly and to my surprise, without much suffering. Seeing number go down more than compensated the negative emotion of hunger, even more so, I associated happiness with hunger because it meant that I'm doing it right.

You have short bicep insertions meaning more tendon and less muscle.When you use any sort of momentum or stretch reflex your tendons are going to do most of the work. It's the same situation if you have high calf muscle insertions, you need to really focus on the stretch and get rid of any momentum. Choose one movement that you can consistently add a lot of weight to (barbell curls are usually best), then do some stretch-focused isolation.
