Modern IFBB Pro bodybuilders, at least the top 10 or so, actually make a bit of money, but it didn't used to be this way. From my limited research, it looks like pro bodybuilders, despite the name, ended up making less money than the money they put into the actual activity of bodybuilding. It's even worse for elite powerlifters and strongmen. It seems like there's a long history of pro bodybuilding and sex work, like tons of men have literally sold their bodies to be able to afford bodybuilding in the first place.

I hate rich people. Wealth inequality is far greater than income inequality at least largely due to inheritance. I hate people who are born on third base.

There was a survey done, and modern women typically find the physique of a natty pro bodybuilder in the offseason to be most attractive, and most men can only achieve such a physique on steroids, anyway. Still, that takes a ton of time, effort, and money to achieve, and it would likely be more worth all that time, effort, and money in finding ways to increase your income if your end goal is attracting more women, at least attracting more women for dating, as the jacked guy potentially has an easier time hooking up.
