Almost every man concerned with bodybuilding should do forearm isolations. Much more important than biceps for masculine aesthetics imo.
But if you're already at the point where you're deadlifting and rowing gargantuan loads without straps, you probably don't need to bother.

can't i just use a grip trainer? won't thsat work the forearms as well? grip strength and forearms are heavily correlated right?

Imagine a CoC gripper (if you are referring to those with a "grip trainer) as the bench press of forearms and wrist curls as the fly movement

Yes and no, you can (and should) target multiple muscle groups in the forearms.
To test this do
X100 of the following, goal time 5 minutes.
>Cherry pickers
>Bag openers
>Wrist ups
>Wrist ins
>Stick swats

>Arms straight out in T pose
>Just open and close fingers into fist= 1 rep

>Arms straight out, rotate palm from under to overhand = 1 rep

>Hands in front below waste, ball both fists, try to touch your forearm with your knuckles

>Now rotate your wrists like you're holding a hammer, bend your knuckles towards your forearm

>Same position as above, this time only move your wrists straight up and down like you're casting a spell from your thumb

This vs behind the back curls on the cables? Tattoo guy told me my forearms were a bit small for the tattoo I wanted, so I gotta fix that shit asap.
