I was doing it for some years, but since my skin is kind of a catastrophe (still acne even at age 37) in general and it didn't seem to make a difference I stopped.

Skin issues are almost always diet or roids/meds

Every time you wash your face with face wash and after every time you shave you should moisturise. Both of them are removing the natural oils your face produces and makes the skin more susceptible to damage from drying out and you might get an infection.

No roids, but I did recently shift my diet pretty radically. Cut out all kinds of processed sugars/syrup/etc, cut out all aspartame or sugar free shit, basically subsist on chicken, lentils, some veggies, fruit and rice now.
Not sure if its gonna pay off, only a few months into the routine. Have a feeling literally nothing can help me though, my nose in particular just seems cursed, visible blackheads abound, lots of scarring from old cysts (thankfully don't really get those anymore), still regularly get zits. If I had money I'd look more into what a dermatologist can do or even plastic surgery but that's not an option.

Every time I use a moisturizer, doesn't matter what, my skin breaks out. And every time I use a cleaner it makes my skin dry and flakey. I don't want to apply anymore poisonous chemicals to my face.

You should wear a 30spf moisturizer every day. I am 33 and people think I'm in my mid 20s.

That's not because of the moisturizer, I've literally never used a skincare product in my entire life and people also think that I'm in my mid 20s, I turn 34 in July.

Yes but sun damage is a common factor for people with bad skin. Shut-ins actually have better skin on average if you exclude diet.

I'm pretty sure the human body adaptation to the conditions it's in.
If you're somewhere that you don't lose a lot of moisture, or you're putting moisturizer on every day, your body stops producing its own methods of retaining moisture, so the second you stop doing your routine your skin starts to crack and ages significantly.

I'm also positive that wearing makeup and doing all these beauty routines is detrimental for not just the skin, but the psyche.
Where you need 10 gallons of makeup a day today to look normal to yourself and the people around you.

You might as well ask if soap works and complain how you have to use it every day

Just use a small layer of sunscreen daily, maybe look into a specialized routine if you have acne issues

So incredibly vague as to be utterly useless.
