>drink bottle of vodka thursday evening
>go for a 5k jog on sunday
>stamina massively fucked

is this normal? Is it because i'm over 30? i like to drink (more or less heavy) every now and then, but it's fucking annoying to always make a huge step backwards condition wise. Any suggestions how to counter this?

I've been drinking more than usual in the last two months, my condition is much worse now than it was two months ago. Not bad at all, but worse.

Sometime in my early 30s I discovered that it took me about 4 days (96 hours) to get over heavy drinking. Don't know the exact reason, but try to rehydrate with sodium, potassium, and magnesium before, during, and after, and anon please don't drink an entire bottle of booze in one go.

Yes, the after effects of drinking last for the better part of a week. This is common knowledge, and one of the reasons people say drinking is bad for you. Glad you've caught up to the rest of grown ups.

I only had one single real hangover before i turned 30, and i have been drinking since i was 15 or so. Then it started that i needed one day to recover, but never more. And suddenly, i have to plan days ahead before touching alcohol. This is a cruel curse

I donโ€˜t but the healthy happy glow of having quit is starting to run its course and in a couple of months I can feel that Iโ€˜ll need to retvrn to it so as to shake up my life a bit. Apollonian/Dionysian interchange and all.
