I just did two sets of squats, then spent 20 minutes scrolling https://boards.4chan.org/fit//catalog to see what my /fit/ friends had to say on various topics.

How do you see this impacting my gains?

Even elite deadlifters don't need 20 minutes of rest between their sets. You should try to cut down on the rest time so that you can get more done in the time you have available. You can always just browse /fit/ after your workout. That's what I do. I work out and then it makes me think about fitness and then I browse /fit/.

I do this too. I like how it blocks out outside noise, and I like how the circulation of air keeps the air feeling more fresh.
