Anyways you can basically put anything in pasta, just use your imagination.
Heat up a pan, put in a bit of olive oil and cook a bit of thinly diced onion on it until it's golden, then throw in the tomato sauce, a can of tuna, some olives, a pinch of salt and spices to taste (maybe some hot pepper powder, maybe some basil), mix it well and let it thicken on lowish heat.
There's your pasta sauce.
You can boil some broccoli, then blend them with a splash of milk, a handful of nuts, some black pepper, some nutmeg, you'll get a nice cream that should also go great with pasta.
Try making a carbonara, it's very simple.
The world is your oyster, really. Look up some of the dozens of italian recipes for some inspiration and adapt them to your tastes.
A neat general trick with sauces is to make them in a big pan, then when your pasta has been cooking for a few minutes take some of the water from its pot and throw it in the sauce pan (the added water will evaporate but the gluten that had been released by the pasta will thicken your sauce), then drain the pasta about half a minute too early and throw it in the sauce pan and mix it there for a bit on low heat
