>>76281833For some reason I've never been able to be empathic. I know what is normal to say in situations where people are sad, but i'm tired of cliches and people saying things they don't mean just because its expected to say it.
Like saying "my condolences" at a funeral, when you don't even really know the dead guy or his relatives. Never understood why people feel the need to say such things.
I can fake the correct emotions and responses, but the older i get, the less i care to do it.
One of my ex gf's cat died and she was crying for days. All i was thinking was "its just a cat, why is she crying"
I knew i was supposed to say something like "It'll be ok, he had a good life. Give it some time, you'll feel better. I'm here for you"
Instead i told her "don't cry, you can always get a new one" That didn't go well lol
