โ€œAfter college, after Trump mostly gave up his personal athletic interests, he came to view time spent playing sports as time wasted. Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted."

I mean, is he wrong? You just get tired after working out and your heart gets "stronger" at pumping blood while working out, not really stronger in general, you would have to work cardio and not weights for that.

>good looks without even trying
>path to being something great literally laid down in front of you
Of course he thinks it's useless, let me guess he actually looks down on the working class too

Good looks?

Trump is one of the ugliest dudes who ever lived. Like, I actually get sickly when I look at him, even in his younger days.

i think he's right about lifting and wrong about cardio. even light cardio has massive health benefits. lifting is mostly vanity and may be detrimental in the long term. i want him to be healthy and live a long time.

despite his official position on this, he always seems to spend a bit of time getting into shape when he's running for office and i could see him doing that again before he runs for this his third term.

Well, there are two types of exercise: exercise that steals energy, and exercise that creates energy.
My rule of thumb is that if I am more tired at the end of training than at the beginning, I over did it.

>Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted."
This is not true. The body continuously recharges and regenerates its own cells. However you need a stimulus. If you lift weights and sprint the body believes you are in a difficult environment for survival and will try to make itself stronger and resilient for the future.

Everything from your metabolism to your mitochondria gets stronger from exercise. When you just sit around and become fat your body actually doesn't have a lot of triggers to repair and strengthen itself, your metabolism becomes completely dysfunctional. And your risk for cancer goes up.
