In the age of everyone grifting and selling bee pollen, as well as other random shit, how does "train hard 2-3 / week" get people money? It doesn't.

Because people are easily scared of missing out. Something that says "less work same results" because you're natty and the physiological processes involved in hypertrophy are not changing between the two scares them. They'd rather do more work and be more certain the 2% gap is closed than just not waste that much of their life and time doing something no one is really going to care about.

That's a waste. One or even two warmup sets makes sense but 4-5 easy sets is too much. You're just taking away from the all out set where you'll actually activate the growth mechanism

Besides professional body builders/youtubers, only NEETs have the time to recover correctly, but they dont have the mentality to do anything hard, so they certainly wont train hard.

Because all the people who did HIT got results and thus no longer felt compelled to engage in online fitness. Basically, everyone is looking for the best way to build muscle, and if you find it you stop looking.
I'm only on fit right now because I'm incredibly bored.

Efficiency doesn't sell well. It's more profitable to have people spinning their wheels

A more sensible approach to mike's training philosophy is the best imo. That is, training to real failure two times per week per muscle group seems reasonable, plus some accessories. 1 exercise 1 set per week is too little

The truth is that most of the people who try it realize just how fucking brutal it is. So they stop working out or start procrastinating workouts or go back to less intense, but higher volume workouts. In reality, Mike's approach is just too hardcore for most people. Too uncomfortable. So they'd rather shit on it or dismiss it than stick with it on long term.
They'll cite how the science is clear on more volume and more sets proving more gains. Yet that is never the actual reason why they don't follow high intensity training. Though, I'll also add that there's a higher risk of injury, so that kind of sucks.

Nobody even considers doing HIT until they're already spinning their wheels on a high volume routine. You are retarded.

Dude Mentzer was THE original science nerd. Have you ever actually listened to him speak? He constantly brings up scientific jargon to prove his new principles. The whole shtick of HIT is to boil excercise down to its scientific essentials, and do away with all the inhereted wisdom of bodybuilders past, to figure out what really works. HIT had its beginning with Arthur Jones and his mock-scientific Colorado Experiment. Both bring up studies constantly. It's the penultimate science-brain pencilneck philosophy. Every single bodybuilder since the beginning of the Iron Game used volume as a tool but they're all wrong because now we have science. Shit's fucking gay.

In short people don't lift with proper form when they're close to failure.

In long a lot of them are used to lighter loads where form is more forgiving and things like locking out on bench isn't going to wreck your tricep. Or failing a lift isn't going to directly injure you. This is why mentzer pushed machines but there's still people who try to make this work with only free weights and pay for it.

Shorten your rom near the end of sets. Stay away from the extreme ends of the range of motion when you're working with heavier loads. HIT will make you gain strength so fast it can easily outpace your connective tissue but it's almost a non-issue if you use machines and incorporate collagen rich foods into your diet and don't do stupid things like attempting it more than every 4th day.

The comments section of this video is filled with people talking about getting better results with HIT than with high volume training.
The OPs only argument is "well there are more Mr. Olympias that did high volume, therefore it's better", but in the same breath he admits they're all on steroids anyway.

>>76292498
If you think HIT is slacking, then you're not doing it right. It should be hard as shit. The big issue is that doing one ridiculously hard set session after session is pretty risky, long term, and roids often don't even lessen the risk.
Personally I like to incorporate both HIT and higher volume. I don't want to be some little bitch that can't do a short burst of high intensity activity when the need calls for it because I'm using volume, and conversely I don't want to be some lardass that has no capacity and gasses out after a couple minutes of strenuous physical activity.

What happens to the people saying one set to absolute failure is uncomfortable? It is literally 10 seconds on which you are very tired and that's it, a few times 2 times a week, if that's a wall for you get your fucking shit together

>you now realize the people all saying "HIT WORKS ITS THE BEST" are all lifetime intermediates/n00bz that see progress regardless of what they do because they bench sub 3 plates
When you're in the elite numbers, 2x a week to maintain, 3x a week to grow. Upper/Lower is king.

You mean 'advanced' elite is almost all genetic outliers + steroids.
Almost everyone is a perpetual intermediate because the intermediate range is comparatively huge. But you can lift well into the upper end of the intermediate range before you have change something to make it into advanced if it's even worth at that point. I think most people will be happy well before then unless they got molested. And making it into advanced numbers is still possible with HIT but would involve more concise lift selection based on what is going to translate best to those lifts rather than what is aesthetic. I've seen my share or ugly chests built to bench 300+ and nice chests that cap out at 250.
