sometime i think that a deficit that severe is the only thing that works. i tried doing 200-500 and i just plateaued, even with daily cardio.

It lost me 46kg in 11 months, just taper down gradually. 1000 a day IMMEDIATELY will shock the system and your fat ass will hang onto every gram. Your metabolism WILL slow down as a result of this instant shock.

Count out your tdee and then eat 1000 less calories and you will lose 1kg a week.
Jojo dieting never works and fat loss should be slow and steady

No. No way. You'll fuck up, there will be weird social issues with not eating, someone will die and there's funeral beers you have to have, etc. Banking the calories is smart because then you just expect fuckups and try to recover quickly vs have an autistic /fit/ meltdown.

Not if you're planning with an end date in mind. You go to that large of a deficit you should not expect to maintain that discipline for more than 2 to 3 months before the misery starts to win

I ate 500-600 less for a week and lost 1.5-2kg (0.5kg was probably water weight or I may have been bloated a week ago). I think I counted something wrong.

If it's don't suck, it isn't fast enough.
If you have the patience and time, sure just do a 250 - 500kcal a day fitness industry deficit.
But if you want results, a cut starts at 750kcal - 1200kcal deficit.

Currently I'm fasting 3 days out of every week.
Fat is melting and I feel great. I've done this only a couple of weeks and my biggest concern is trying to figure out every week if my bf% is too low to do it.

my personal strategy is to start on a huge deficit, like 1200-1500 and then slowly increase calories over a few months until reaching maintenance

Yes it's too much.
You will crash to quickly and even if you keep with it your metabolism will slow down too much that you will still be in a caloric surplus and any weight you lose during this time will come back.
Do a 200-400 calorie deficit and move more, as you lose weight, every 5 or so lbs reduce another 100 calories and increase volume and intensity of exercise.
This will prevent metabolic adaptations preventing you from regaining the weight later on, eventually you will see no more weight loss from this strategy but if you keep increasing activity you can actually eat more and keep losing weight because by exercising more you will increase your metabolism and burn calories just by existing as opposed if you keep cutting calories back your body will desperately try to hold to fat and reduce your metabolism so your energy levels drop, you stop losing fat and even with small meals you gain weight.

Whenever you plateau you have to self adjust by either eating less or moving more, ideally a bit of both.

No such as thing as too much. Imo it's infact even better. Do you want to be on a deficit for 6 months or 3 months? Way better to just get it over with. It's not like being on a deficit for half a year is "good" either.

The marginal amount of muscle you might lose more on a 1000 deficit compared to 500 is so small, once you start eating back on a maintenance, thanks to muscle memory, you re-gain that difference in like 1-2 weeks anyways. You DEFINITELY gain it back in 1-2 months 100% no questions asked whatsoever, so in every case it's faster and more "optimal" to go on as big deficit as you can handle.

You're likely just undercounting your calories to the tune of ~500 thus the only thing that "works" is cutting what you think is ~1000 calories but what is in actuality ~500.

Im not a fat fuck nor skinny, just 8kg overweight and 1200 deficit was barely enough to make me feel more hunger than usual

Yes it will retard. If you eat 7000 kcals a day but somehow then burn 8000 kcals a day (nearly impossible but this is your retarded scenario where you have a 1000 kcal deficit on a 7000 kcal intake) you would lose weight at a rate of about 2lbs a week.
