Pretty much. When you're a kid, you've got nothing but time and options. You can fuck around and make mistakes and go "alternative" paths and whatever. But even if you succeed with those, you eventually start to slow down a little and crave the stability of family life. I'm really glad I went out and did cool shit when I was younger, but now that I'm just hitting my thirties, I for sure see the writing on the wall.

Just classic 4chan contrarianism at play. Modern progressive narratives are beginning to deconstruct nuclear family values and push an individualized, liberal interpretation of the human experience. This is now becoming mainstream, so online reactionaries (4chan) will go against it.

A lot of people also grew up and realized that being a one-off, against-the-grain lone wolf type is actually a lonely and miserable existence that leaves one wanting. Personally, I find more fulfillment when I can share my treasured experiences with others and watch it enrich their lives, rather than to go off on my own and covet it for myself.
