What's better for general fitness, a stationary bike or a treadmill? I've got a home gym for weights but want to get into more cardio. Before saying "just run outside", I'm a single parent and can only workout early in the morning and I'm not leaving my kid.

Get a bike trailer and/or jogging stroller. Thule and Burley make one that can do both (and ski). Now go outside and do /fit/ness with your son.

It depends. If you're trying to burn fat, biking. If you are trying to improve cardio or want a time-efficient exercise, then running.
>Running
Higher intensity, more efficient for calorie burn vs time, more joint impact. Your body tends to burn glycogen rather than fat beyond zone 2. More prone to injury.
>Biking
Lower intensity (zone 1-2, sometimes 3), body tends to burn fat rather than glycogen. Less time efficient for strictly calorie burn. Improves your overall endurance with longer sessions. Much less prone to injury.

Do the cardio you want to do. I have a torn miniscus, umbilical hernia, biceps tendinosis, and some degenerated lumber and thoracic spine disc's. Due these injuries I dont tolerate the impact from running well. The bike on the other hand has been amazing. I can sit down on it for an hour, go full on and get a great workout in. I also have kids and can't leave them alone for an hour and don't want to get run over by riding my bike in the road. I think running is probably the better exercise overall but the cardio benefits of cycling are apparent to me. I started doing cardio 4 months ago and in that time ive gone from being completely winded after a set of squats for 5 minutes to recovering in 1 minute. My wife has noticed ive lost weight (down a shirt size) and sex doesn't feel like work any more. I have way more energy in the bedroom and that has been a huge win. I have kids who run around at the park and being able to chase them around and climb up all the jungle gyms without getting winded is really nice. My resting heart rate has dropped significantly and I can push myself way harder in my leg day lifts because my cardio isnt as limiting.
So im sure runners will say if you like to run then run and cycles will say if you like cycling the get the cycle. I personally prefer the cycle.

Already do. One thing I'm adamant about is having him outside and we're at the park at least an hour each evening. When he's a bit older I plan on having him workout, too, but this is just so I can add more with my weight training.

I prefer the bike. Easier on my joints, and cheaper. Easier to move a bike and a lot less moving parts to replace. Look on OfferUp, I found a good one for less than 100$.

Stationary bike.
Less maintenance, less joint impact, cheaper, quieter, and easier to multitask if that's your thing.

You could also look into a magnetic bike trainer if you don't want a spin cycle and want to use an existing bike

Both are gay and cucked. You can get a child seat or trailer for a bike and you can get a running stroller. I use both for my 3yo son. If you're doing cardio indoors you're genuinely gay, ALL cardio should be done outside shirtless when it's warm.
Summer months are for outdoor cardio building your aerobic base, cold months you can get an echo bike and do an anaerobic phase indoors if you're a mega puss and can't handle the cold.

how does a regular cycle compare to an exercise bike? i think it would be a bad choice since you can't predict the rain and you can also get into an accident

I like the regular bikes more, since I enjoy the variation in terrain, seeing nature is nice, and the pedalling just feels "nicer".

But having a stationary bike is a lot more convenient if the weather is bad or it's late and you want to get your cardio in. There's also less maintenance than a normal bike too.

Yeah, which is why psychologically unfit males are so commonplace today, why there are so many fags with mommy issues, anger issues, manchild behavior, anxiety and depression, etc.

I don't know the EXACT reason he's a single dad, but I know for a fact that his decision making played a big role, either in him being a retarded partner or in him picking a retarded woman unfit to be a mother. Either way, his poor decision led to this outcome and now his kid is FUCKED and is being raised in a broken home and will have to watch his dad pedal a stationary bike in the living room like a cuck while his mom gets hammered somewhere and rides the cock carousel

The main duties of an au pair is childcare with some light housework. If you hire one and she''s not doing the childcare-- which is help raising the kid-- then your paying a woman to sit around all day and maybe vacuum or do dishes. At that point, have more time with women tutors.

An au pair isn't "raising" your child if you're a remote wagie sitting home all day, she's just assisting you in what you ask of her and provoking lustful passion in your heart. Also you don't pay an au pair, you just give her room and boarding and a small allowance

Fuck getting an au pair. Any cunt that thinks au pair is a job will just fuck your kid up. Don't even bother with a girlfriend for now, just focus on your son. He'll learn enough about women when his crazy ass mom tries to force her way into your lives. Teach that lil nigga to read and clean, maybe draw, and you'll have plenty of time for WFH. If you need longer stretches of time to work out, get your kid to workout with you. He's 4, perfect time to start bench, squat, and deads.

Oh this thread isn't about cardio machines after all. Okay then.

OP what you need to do throw out everything with a screen. Phones Ipads TVs throw them all out. Ideally move to the woods and live off of foraging and hunting until your son hits 10. After that you'll leave him for 6 months-2 years to fend for himself applying the skills and tools he's learned.

When you see him again at 12 he will be a fully functional independent strong Leader of Men. From there he will be fine.
