Because bench sucks for chest. So here's what you do. Find a gym with a pec dec. Then you flat or 30 degree incline bench heavy as fuck, 3 x 5. Then you do a shoulder press of some sort for 3 x 10 - 12 reps, the intent here is to fatigue your front and side delts so the pec dec is all pecs. Then lastly you get on the pec dec and you do 3 x 10 with an AMRAP as your 4th set. Just fucking blow that shit out and enjoy a chest pump.

You have to go narrow so its more like a neutral grip almost, preferably arch and find your pocket, tuck elbows and torque your wrists and lock in delts. Thats how you get a sick chest pump and a lot of people do "prison reps" because the bounce hits different fibers/rom of fibers, and instead of fully articulating your shoulders to get every fiber try developing movements that hit each group/upper chest etc. Flies definitely add size but not heavy enough(at all in your programming) youre losing gains.
