Would low intensity walking be enough for fat loss? Running is too hard on my joints

yes, as long as you're in a caloric deficit. it's even recommended over running as a form of exercise for larger people.
now why is this a thread, couldn't you have asked in the /sqtddtot/?

Start lifting and use a crosstrainer, rowing machine or stairmaster for cardio

yes, just be on a slight calorie deficit and lift to keep your joins bone density and muscles healthy. Mother fuckers in ancient greece where working out and being in shape man it's not that fucking deep, eat less, exercise. That's it.

Just eat a bunch of protein and lift
Protein isn't calorie-dense and is very filling, so it's not very hard to go into a calorie deficit that way

actually running isnt that good for losing weight the amount of fat burned is way lower than what you expect with the effort it takes
the extra work makes you hungrier and you'll think that you can eat more because you burned a bunch of calories
theres a fat losing general

>the amount of fat burned is way lower than what you expect with the effort it takes
this, if you have time for it walking is much better for calorie burning since you can do it for an indeterminate amount of time
hours of hiking > half hour run
of course if you have a job running becomes the more optimal choice because of limited time, but I'd only do it once you are at normal levels of overweight since just cutting a few hundreds more of calories from your diet is easier and safer anyway

Yesmbjoghibg and runnibg has a very small difference in energy expenditure per time. In fact, ut's a very lottle of calories burned. But it will improve yiur sensitivity to insulin and will make loosing weight significantly easier. Aim for half an hour per day till you get used to it. Gradually increase to 2 hours of walking per day. Try to walk everywhere if it takes less than 20 min go reach it by foot

Yeah but you do have to do quite a lot of it. My stick thin friend swears by four hour walks. Otherwise, it'll still work with less time, it'll just take longer. But it isn't as bad on your joints and, if your weight is the main issue with that then you'll be building up to be able to run from walking. Plus it's better for weight loss as it's an aerobic exercise (you're not working that hard so you can take in lots of oxygen to help burn fat) rather than running too fast and hitting the anaerobic state (not enough oxygen, abandon ship, burn that thing over there wahhh). Pick a nice route and enjoy yourself.

Why not ride a bike or do walking on an incline treadmill? Will get your heart rate up but won't demolish you like running.

I'm a fat fuck I haven't worked out in like 2 months, now I just started up I literally rode 11 miles on my bike wasn't even that bad. Took me an hour, and wasn't going very fast, but my avg heartrate was 160, and nice to zip through the nature if you have a nice bike trail through trees and shit.

if you've ever wondered why people in europe are skinnier despite eating pasta and drinking shitloads of beer its because they walk and hike frequently.

Itโ€™s not the walking. They have less fat building compounds injected into their foods

you can eat 100 grams of protein in 500 calories
if you can't reach your protein goals while still being in a deficit then you're miscounting something
you can't do it forever but you shouldn't be in a very severe deficit forever in the first place
regardless, walking with a moderate deficit is great, just still do the compounds to maintain muscle. I once lost 50lbs in like seven weeks and part of that was getting kinda manic in the middle of that and walking/pacing for seven straight hours while seething about something i read. Dropped that weight though.

Start going to the pool. Pool exercises are not hard on the joints but will kick your ass. Total body workout plus cardio.

If I walk fast with my basically raped flat crocks or flippers or any shoe without cushion, my shins hurt. No problem when running or not going that fast. Technically I guess I just don't absorb impact good enough when making a step but it's ridiculius how fast I get to feel it because otherwise I'm pain free doing literally anything else

In my xp, no. CICO doesn't work either in my xp though, so ymmv.

t. did several bouts of 1000cal+ deficits via walking and it did absolutely nothing.

It's kinda crazy how I lost 10% of my body weight by simply being a lazy POS for a couple months and hardly eating anything. If anything, laziness is a boon to losing weight since you don't even have to get your ass off the couch for food anymore.

Try to hit Zone2, its usually attainable via a brisk walk / slow jog.

Zone2 is sustainable for long periods of time without fatiguing you and it burns fat directly. Higher intensity work outs will burn carbs rather than fat and will tire you out much faster. Get a way to measure your heart rate and shoot for an hour of Zone2 a day.

I fly around Ontario a lot and I see her at the airport every other time. Shes such a narcissistic sociopath. Every time she is always looking around with this crazed look hoping people recognize her. Ruins my day
