I genuinely think anyone that complains about inflation with respect to groceries (not talking about input costs for business owners or even high end consumer goods) is just retarded, bad with their money, and refuse to accept the economic class they're in. I live in Canada and I bought from walmart
>1 lb Ground turkey, 2 different 125g packs of salami, 2 500g bags of frozen shrimp
>4L Milk, a block of butter, a swiss cheese wedge, a large container of plain greek yogurt
>2 loaves of bread, a box of crackers
>12 apples, 2lb grapes, 15 mandarin oranges, a cucumber, grape tomatoes (dont feel like checking weight)
>1 jar of raspberry jam
>wet cat food
and it was $130.91, the cat food was $25 so im feeding myself for 2 weeks for $106. Sure i have certain staples like rice on hand but even with iNfLaTiOn i never spend more than $300 a month on food. and this is CAD

I get it, you dont want to cook, you dont want to eat vegetables but for fucks sakes so much decent food is so affordable that to complain about food prices is a slap in the face to your ancestors that survived famines and grain shortages. Buy glass containers, start a recipe book, feed yourself for less than $4 per meal

idk tell me if your experience is different, id love a break down of your grocery bill if youre open to sharing

Just certain things that i like to buy are more expensive than they should be, not that i can't afford it, but i know they're asking more than inflation for it. Like 70% pure chocolate and milk.

I agree with you on everything up until the cat food part. Get monkey food it's more packed with protein
But on another note yes people in extremely wealthy or poor countries suck with savings and spending. First worlders hoard dogshit overpriced goyslop and third worlders buy everything for vanity rather than practicality

Inflatiin is the reason i eat less overall, and also the reason i eat so much cheap fruit lile apples, nanners, oranges. I consider eating out a luxury for those with expendable income. I dont have great job prospects and am about to become an electrician. I feel like i need to grind the r4st of my life to die comfortably on a few acres. Had a decent life so far but did whatever i wanted and now worried about financial security.

400g of protein for 2 weeks
Good job you fucking idiot. You literally eat in a week what some of us have to eat in a day to build muscle.

I'm Jewish (but Christian) and this is the most Jewish thing I have ever heard of in my entire life.

The economy is fucked, how is eating cat food a solution? Are you here to survive, or to live?

I know you guys are joking but for the record I subtracted the price of cat food from the overall bill to describe the amount i spend on food

>>76310229
you are right some items have become overpriced but every grocery store has such great deals that the few dollars you save off the fair price here and there subsidize stuff like milk. however, here 2% is $6 CAD so im not complaining

fruit is so cheap i use it to cut out candy. brother, electricians make good money, youre gonna make it bro

i went and checked. on the salami, shrimp, and turkey its 220g of protein. obviously there is some protein in some of the other foods i bought and that i have on hand but youre right, it is pretty low. I didnt buy ingredients this week because i premade some and put them in the freezer already but i have breakfast burritos with egg, ham, and cheese that i have for breakfast. im not really trying to build muscle desu, i just meal prep to avoid eating out and snacking. posted on /fit/ since i figured you guys would have stronger opinions than any other board

yeah no shit that's why I steal half my groceries. I have zero interest in living like a poor person, even if I am
