A lot of people seem to have a child's idea of what healthy eating is, and think healthy eating means having a pack of strawberries a day (which actually would be expensive, like £2.50 a pack in most shops). I used that example because I have had multiple people claim healthy eating is expensive because of that. So it's apparently cheaper to buy junk food instead
But in reality, nobody likes to admit that they fucked up and got fat through their own fault. It's easier to blame cost of living and healthy eating being expensive.
