Most chefs are like this. I forget if it was Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver but in one of their shows they where in a regular persons house and got some (comparatively) simple food given to them. They ate it and were very grateful. Aside from the simplicity, the issue is when you're a chef you're cooking for other people at work then outside of work people either expect you to cook for them or won't give you food out of fear of you hating it or thinking it's beneath you. I'm not a chef but cooking is not only my hobby but how I feed myself. I can make things from Escoffier. However when I go to my mums house for dinner I don't care what she makes or that she's a terrible cook (compared to me) I'm just happy to eat food I didn't have to make myself.

I live in a walkable city so it's only a 10 minute walk to the grocery store. 3 meals of Frozen veggies+oil+seasoning+Protein is still cheaper than ordering one meal delivered. And I get the exercise of walking. And it's 1/3rd the calories because it isn't drenched in butter.

I generate about $20 worth of value for 1 hour worth of cooking/cleaning. This is worth it to me, especially when the alternative is often just sitting around doing nothing particularly productive. There's enjoyment in getting better with the knife, the ritual, listening to podcasts. Cooking with a wok is a forearm/wrist workout in itself.

I use multicooker. It has recipe book with it with around 200 recipes (more recipes you can find in internets). It's easy - just prepare ingredients, load them in bowl, close lid, set timer and wait for it
