At what age should you stop treating lifting like one of your main focuses in life, and start treating like a quick side thing you do for maintenance to maintain a decent athletic looking physique, and not a thing where you're min-maxing the most optimal routine like a gymcel bodybuilder trying to optimize every little detail

It just depends on your goals. Some guys make it their entire lives and that's okay.

You should stop when you reach whatever your goal is, not at a specific age. Then you maintain from there until your goals change.

I think in your 30s you should stop by then. Unless you LOVE lifting, then that’s different. For me, it’s just maintenance of an athletic physique as you say. So I can do things k actually really love like swimming. It’s also for like health reasons to as I get older and try to stave off issues.

Its really not okay to be some guy in his 30's, single, childless, and worrying about his macros and progressive overload.... and getting ripped for the summer.

Thats shit teenagers worry about. If you're still doing that in your 30s, your priorities are fucked up.

Me in my late 40s. My ex got the house, my priorities got unfucked for that cost.

1/4 my facebook is full of people who are miserable with wife and kids. Another 1/4 is full of people who are happy with wife and kids. Standard life goals are for those who can't cope.

You shouldn't be doing this at any age unless you plan to be professional bodybuilder competing on stage...which is also something you shouldn't do.
