Can you lose weight just by eating less and not doing exercise?

I'm too lazy

that is called "intermittant fasting" and it is retarded, usually leads to a temporary drop in weight then a huge increase

Yeah but you'll end up skinnyfat. Exercise mitigates muscle loss while you're losing weight.

yeah, your body uses energy to keep yourself alive so if you eat less itll start to need the fat you have stored for that energy. sticking strictly to a diet can be hard though

Eating less should lose weight, changing the foods that you're eating will also help you lose weight. Stop eating as much unhealthy food.

It depends.
Have you already been working out and building muscle up until this point, or are you just now beginning your /fit/ness “journey” and taking shit seriously~ish for the first time?
If you haven’t been working out and are trying to do the pre-bulk cut to get down to barebones skelly mode before putting on muscle, I’d say you’re alright to just starve the shit out of yourself without working out but you have to genuinely commit to it.
That being said, working out is good anyhow because it promotes healthy habits and time management by giving you a routine and allowing you to hone your discipline.
By and large, when people are out of shape it is the result of lacking discipline in more than one area of life, not just diet or exercise.
If you genuinely wish to become a legit beefcake, you’re going to have to implement it in all areas of your life eventually.
Cutting corners does not encourage this.
On the flip side losing weight takes a lot of time, and momentum can be a powerful motivational tool.
Especially when you first start out.
A lot of us here are not used to feeling good about ourselves, and when you finally manage to lose some weight and it’s noticeable (even just to yourself), it’s an incredible feeling that propels you to push yourself and appreciate your own capabilities.
So my two cents would be “yeah it’s okay to go on a literal hunger strike if you don’t have muscle mass you’ve been working hard to gain to worry about retaining.”
(but also I’m not a fucking doctor. I’ll add to this post with my own “journey” or whatever just so you can get an idea of how shit worked for me)

Post some stats, homie.
Just how out of shape are you at the moment, and what are your goals?

I know that you’re trolling, but the amount of calories even running burns feels fucking negligible when compared to the 2k+ we burn by simply existing.
When losing weight, diet matters hundredfold more than exercise.
It’s so ridiculously easy to eat 600 calories (especially if it’s junk) and you’d have to run five fucking miles (not an exaggeration) to burn that off.
Do not trick yourselves into thinking you can just “work off that piece of pizza” or whatever.

Yeah, he can do that after losing a shit ton of weight and practicing discipline.
Running sucks so fucking bad lmao, it’s a terrible place to start because you’ll convince yourself that everything is that shitty and hard on you.
It’s like getting your first tattoo on your lower back.
Ever wonder why we see so many women that have one and only one tattoo, and it’s always a tramp stamp?
It’s because that’s one of the most painful places to get one done, and they think every additional one is going to be that agonizing and difficult.
It’s foolish.
Momentum is great, but you have to build it.
Don’t fuck yourself overreaching off rip.
Yeah, he could run if he wanted to but I’m not gonna sit here and act like it doesn’t suck super fucking bad, I don’t want anon to think every healthy decision is that shitty too.

running is so abysmally fucking dumb not only in the grand scheme of things but more than ever when someone is first starting out
just encourage anon to build healthy habits that aren’t straight up retarded and masochistic
>lose your crazy shitton of weight
>get to hungry skellington mode
>then bulk
>when you finally do cut again work out while you do it and make sure you eat enough protein so you retain muscle mass
>repeat
>wa-la

You can offset this buy eating appropriately. Figure 40 kcal per pound of fat.

Learning a new diet is hard, once you're in the thick of it it's easy. Soda tastes disgusting.

>>76330124
Obese people shouldn't worry about exercise until they are simply over weight or they can cause premature and irreversible damage to their joints.

>>76330428
Based math person
It's way easier to just create a deficit on basal metabolic rate, people to who exercise to lose weight are retarded.

>>76330441
It literally does not retard. You burn an extra 100 to 200 calories for the duration who gives a fuck. If anything cardiovascular workouts improve your bodies efficiency

No, If you stop giving food to a bedridden cripple and they start losing weight, that means they are faking being crippled and doing exercises when no is looking.

Not for long, CICO will only work by itself short term. Without an increasing energy demand your metabolism will eventually adapt and your weight will plateu and then increase again. Many studies have shown this.

Get home gym and edge while lifting. Maintain an erection during lifts, stroking your cock during rest periods to boost metabolism, you want to stay as hard for as long as possible. You can cum but each cumming makes finishing the session harder, best to hold off ejaculation to the end or just don't cum, nocum would be better tho.

Yes you can,. consuming less calories will result in weight loss but you should know that as you lose weight you will eventually need to keep eating even less to continue losing weight until your metabolism adapts and slows down so that even with the low caloric intake you still gain weight because our bodies want to store fat and if you get too fat your body will try to stay in that state however possible so you can maintain energy resources in your body making exercise necessary to get to an ideal bodyweight unless your target bodyweight isn't that low or just want to get to a bodyweight you're more comfortable with regardless if it's a healthy weight or not, in which case yeah just eat less and once you get to your goal weight just eat at maintenance.

If you run at a slowpoke pace which to be fair is what most people do, if you run at 10 minute mile pace yeah it takes that much running to burn that many calories but the faster you run the more calories you burn in less time, you can burn the same amount of calories in 3 miles at a 5 minute mile pace, obviously much more difficult with the trade off being intensity which most people aren't willing to go through.

Anybody who is running a 5 minute mile pace for 3 miles doesn't need calories explained to them. Also they probably speak Swahili and not English.
