obviously saffron has some good, its the stamen of a flower
probably has similar effect to eating pollen, which is far cheaper
is the effective/efficient for the price? probably not
ashwaghanda has noticeable mental effects, idk about physical, but it clearly subdues stress very evidently, this in turn likely helps recovery
what does saffron do exactly?
>positive mood levels
riiiiigh
I'll take a look
>antioxidant
okay so blueberries are most cost effective out the bat
>may improve mood
so will literally anything that increases blood flow, ginger or ginseng are cheaper more abundant
>maybe cancer
lot of maybes yeah so any mushroom again cheaper
I cba to go on
its not cost effective

Cool, yet a high percentage of Ash users report nothing, while some say (with studies to support) that Saffron is the only supp that helps them, and you have the basis to judge without even trying it, why? Because this is 4chin where dogmatic social retards thrive

>dogmatic
you seem the dogmatic retard trying to shill saffron
theres studies that support saffron, there's studies that support ashwaghanda too, which undermines the legitimacy you're going for
>name calling
wow I'm so convinced that you're not doubling down because you've been called out like a dumb ass trying to shill an overpriced product
tell me the usecase and benefit of saffron if it is so fucking great
oh wait, it doesnt matter, because its still over priced compared to other products that are either far more studied and available in whole food forms (like berries and mushrooms) or similar products that are cheaper (ashwaghanda, ginseng)
if you want overpriced and effective get some niche peptides
if you want nice seasoning on a piece of fish get a sprig of saffron lol

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9573091/
>The present pilot study compares the efficacy of saffron and methylphenidate in children and adolescents diagnosed with ADHD. The most relevant finding is that both treatments showed statistically significant improvements in both core ADHD symptoms and executive functions. More importantly, they were comparable in terms of efficacy, measured with both pen-and-paper tests filled out by parents, and objective measures
obviously no where near as strong as amphetamine but it made a notificable difference in energy and focus for the first few months
recently it has diminished but I think that's just tolerance

It's typically used to TREAT serotonin syndrome as it's a readily usable serotonin precursor. Saffron contains several similar compounds, it just also costs more than gold

l-trytophan gave me serotonin syndrome and 5-HTP would be worse since it's a more direct precurser, i would never touch it, Saffron is a widely used spice that doesn't do any of that.

also it's proven to increase your prolactin:

It depends what you're buying it for. The kind that you've pictured is good for mental fatigue and energy. Magnesium citrate is good for constipation. And magnesium bisglycinate is good for maximum absorption with very few side effects.

I'm looking to pair it up with Vit D after i just recently found out i was deficient in it. So in my case I could potentially use any form of Magnesium right?

What if I do L-Threonate in the morning and Bisglycinate in the night? or is that doing too much?

I would recommend magnesium bisgiycinate. There's no reason to buy multiple forms of it. It would just be an added expense and make it unnecessarily complicated. If you're looking for a way to replete deficient levels, then that's the kind you would want since it offers maximum absorption anyway.

Then the safflower would also give you serotonin syndrome, because that's what is in it chemically to be sold as a supplement. Because it's just doing the same thing 5-HTP is, but for more money.

Because they're weaker in activity at the receptors in question, much like there are weaker and stronger opiates. Same thing =/= same intensity. Get a higher concentration of saffron and it would.

do you even realize 5-HTP and saffron don't even have the same mechanism of action? saffron affects other neurotransmitters like dopamine gaba glutamate and is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, 5-HTP is a direct precurser to serotonin, just because both are "serotonin boosters" doesn't mean that they're the same.

the comparison with opiods is like if i compared saffron with SRRIs since they share a mechanism of action but that's different still since both do have other effects and different compounds and yes aren't of the same intensity, i take mucuna pruriens yet i don't have problems with it but the parkinson drug levedopa has the same mechanism of action and would probably cause alot of problems to someone who doesn't need it, that happens because of the reasons i stated above, and 5-HTP is the equivalent substance of levedopa but for serotonin instead of dopamine.
