It's been four days. Do you guys who work out more than twice a week just feel permanently sore and in pain? How the fuck do people work out 5x a week?

I feel the least soreness if I each muscle group is hit 2 times a week. I actually feel MORE soreness if I only hit each muscle group 1 time a week.

The more you workout the less sore you feel.
You stop/starting is what is making it worse.
You don't workout enough is the issue.

eat well, sleep well, take magnesium and zinc.
1 and 2 are the most important for recovery.

I know this is a tired advice but it's really all there is to it. You build muscles DURING recovery, not at the gym.

you absolutely need to feed your muscles the proteins they need for recovery and give them all the sleep they need to grow back stronger.

20-30m workouts twice a day because I have a bunch of injuries and I'm deconditioned
I'm doing this Dr. Kike workout as a base just to get started being active before I start worrying about technical details, just to rewire my brain to being used to working out before I think more about specifics like wrist, obliques, core and specific back and neck support muscles
https://youtu.be/BKTtJk9-3x0
I can only do 7 of the exercises with proper form, I need lighter weight for the flyovers and skull crushers. I sit down all fucking day so I can barely move doing a splitsquat with weight too so count that plus pushups so actually only 6/10 I can do
I suppose I need replacements in the meantime but I'm just trying to get active and not overthink because that's my problem.

>20-30m workouts twice a day because I have a bunch of injuries and I'm deconditioned
that sounds retarded but if it's working for you keep at it
if you want better conditioning you'll need some form of cardio, lifting isn't going to do much to improve that
for soreness id suggest splitting the movements into an upper body and lower body day so only half of your body is sore as fuck the next day
>My sleep is awful I get like 6 hours or 2 5 hour sessions
this is a massive gains goblin
get a blue light filter, lessen your screen time, wear a sleep mask, ect you probably already know what you're doing wrong FIX THAT SHIT

Ok word. I'm trying. I cranked up the creatine for the sleep benefits and I'm working on other areas. For a very long time I only sleep good if I knock myself out with a cocktail of pills and I try not to do that

True but I figure I need some muscle first before anything. I have 0 muscle and I'm 80 years old inside. Sometimes my legs catch the stairs from atrophy when I try to walk up them because they don't lift as high
>for soreness id suggest splitting the movements into an upper body and lower body day so only half of your body is sore as fuck the next day
Ok solid advice there I'll try it. Supersets just seemed simple but it's painful.

ah yeah that'll do it
you might wanna try melatonin to fall asleep at the same time each night but no more than 3 days in a row otherwise you become dependent
the vid isn't a bad routine but long term you should get your hands on a barbell and focus on the big four compounds
you sound totally out of shape so don't worry about that right now and just keep at your routine, maybe add some swimming or jogging or whatever too cardio never hurts and will probably improve your recovery
I believe in you brother we're all gonna make it

I'm sort of limited to dumbbells right now because my location and lack of a gym nearby. I got a pull up bar and some dumbbells and that's it. I wish I had more equipment but location and $ so I'm just trying my best to stop rotting. I went with that routine because it was simple and I can do twice a week but maybe splitting it into upper and lower days would be a good idea like you mentioned
thank you bro I'm doing my best. I think I have decent aesthetic potential genetics wise but my primary concern is health, flexibility and strength

try magnesium. it greatly increased my sleep quality. look for magnesium glycinate or biglycinate. take it an hour before bed, but whenever is also fine, just take it everyday. start at 200mg and if you don't feel improvements go to 400mg.

I've got my micros and macros pretty dialed in, but I wasn't taking creatine or anything and after that study on sleep deprivation and improving sleep I've started loading 20mg a day. I started taking magnesium again for the electrolyte aspect of taking a bunch of creatine.
Basically my plan is just to stick to something simple til I have a foundation then worry about specifics later. Idk if I can ever get my hands on a proper barbell and equipment because of location and space but I'll try to get one eventually. I need to work on flexibility too so after getting a decent foundation I was thinking of doing a flexibility routine and then maybe looking for a better normal routine because I need a stronger core. if I had a gym I'd do the 4 compounds but that's just not an option for the foreseeable future

Itโ€™s because youโ€™re just starting out. When youโ€™ve been working out for a week or so you donโ€™t get sore in the same way anymore. This will happen either when you first start working out or if youโ€™ve taken a break and come back

They're not actually lifting. At least not every single one of the 5 days. They may be doing light days in between actual lifting. Don't expect to progress anything more than once per week and don't expect to not be sore when you lift hard enough to progress. The highest frequency I've ever seen actually work is focusing on each muscle 1.5x per week and even then it was 3 days per week (mwf) and each particular lift was only done once every two weeks. Anyone who says
