Heavy shoes are good for walking actually, especially if you're on an incline

It's a good shoe for weakening your achilles tendon and arch over time as well as deforming your foot
Thank you science

How is the quality of those shoes? I don't want to pay 200 euro for altra or Xerox just to have them fall apart on the first hike. They seem to be very overhyped.

Just go barefoot. There’s basically no material there anyway

Probably. Salomon has a good reputation. I own a pair of their boots. Any individual shoe or boot is probably going to be hit or miss for some people.

They hold up well for me, better than any other shoes I've had but I have never gone really high end on shoes anyway. You can get them on sale for way less than than that amount often, at least I do anyway

Bought a pair of barefoot shoes and it's pretty good so far.
I'm on a summer camp and I walk around 20k steps a day. The first few days my feet hurt really bad, but my feet got used to the new shoes and I actually feel less pain now. I usdually get back pain from standing for extended periods of time, but my bsck doesn't hurt at all when I wear the new shoes.
