I used to vape every 60 seconds all day for years. I even woke up in the middle of the night to vape more so that I can sleep

I just stopped. I went on amassive bender that lasted a couple days without sleeping, I felt so suicidally depressed and tired that I decided I will fix a part of my life as a form of penance for my sins

So I decided I wont vape anymore and that was it. I was an asshole for 2 weeks, really annoyed at everyone and everything, irritable as hell, but I decided I wont vape again so it was easy. Whenever I wanted to vape I told myself "You said you've given up so stop whining" and then I didnt do it.

I also laid in bed almost all day for 2 weeks but hey it got me off vapes.

I noticed I wouldn't really crave cigarettes when I was sick with a cold/flu. I used that as a springboard for quitting. I still had to deal with cravings for 4 weeks though and it was still hard but I just started chewing mints whenever the cravings hit. Godspeed.

When I decided to start running I noticed smoking interfered so I quit. That was it.

nicotine gum. You still actually have to want to quit though. it's not magical, but it'll make the withdrawal more manageable.

Take it when you crave, work on resisting as long as you can. At some point you'll feel fine enough to say "ok, I'll be able to survive this." and you stop taking it.

You'll still have random cravings for at least a year, maybe more. it's 15min just power through and enjoy no longer being a slave to this substance.
