Fuck running.
Long, STEADY walks or this bad boy in case weather is extra shit is all you need.
Walking clears your mind (if you stop CONSOOMING for a second and put away phone / headphones, as you should), and doesn't allow you to stuff your dumb face with food.

Truth, but people aren't ready for your message. They still think they can chug soda, eat mountains of McDonald's slop, and snack on Oreos and Twinkies but make up for it by moving around a bit more.

Diet comes first, exercise is secondary.

It's too bad it's the most boring form of exercise by far. I feel way more accomplishment lifting or rowing for an hour than I do running.

>I can run for 25 minutes and burn that many
Your app is lying to you. Fitness watches, apps, exercise equipment, ect all grossly overestimate how many calories you burn. The only reliable way to gauge caloric burn is via CO2 analysis. 400 calories is what you can expect to burn after running for an hour, not 25 minutes.

Take whatever your app tells you you burned and cut it in half, that'll usually be pretty close to what you actually burned.

I hiked for three weeks a year ago, roughly 25km per day. I lost 8kg in that time. Im a fatass of course but the fat loss was insane. My shorts went from almost too small to barely hanging on.

I've successfully done that. I didn't lose 30 kg by eating less; I lost it by exercising for 4 hours every day, 5 days a week. In fact, I probably ate more during this time.

>Nothing gets you shredded like running.

Retarded advice. Humans evolved to be endurance runners. Our entire gimmick was running down prey animals and eating them after they dropped dead of exhaustion. Ergo humans are HIGHLY efficient runners. Our bodies are evolved to use MINIMAL calories while running. It's literally one of the worst calorie burning activities you can do.

If you want to burn calories, then you have to LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS and target muscle groups.

Nope. Adding muscle mass is one of the few ways to permanently increase TDEE, but you don't lose weight from "exercising". You lose weight by consistently reducing caloric intake below TDEE.

Running marathons doesn't make you skinny. The only people who are good at running marathons are skinny. A fat person can run a marathon in six or eight hours, but they will *never* run a two-hour marathon.
