The opposite. Childhood was the only bright part of our lives and we want to go back

You just havent made it in life. Childhood must be the most peaceful part of your life but not the best.
You indeed got raped.

What was bright was the number of possibilities, you could have been anything, and you didn't even need to think about it or make a decision yet.

You can still have this feeling by trying to get good at lots of things, you can again feel like "maybe I could make furniture for a living" or "maybe I could be a really great shot with a rifle" or "maybe I'll learn to drive a truck".

The difference is you can actually make good on these thoughts. But the catch is you actually need to make good on them because you're too old for potential alone to feel good.
Just go out and do things.

Outside of my job and the gym, in the last 2 months I've made some wooden furniture and some basic electronic devices, I've learned a new coding language and bought land with a house on it that I'm gonna fix up.
I've harvested fruit trees and made jam with it. I've written an album for the first time in 15 years.

If you actually want to try you can do all the cool shit you ever wanted. unlewe you're one of those guys who want to go back to childhood for muh Saturday morning cereal cartoons. They can fuck off, that's just regular old never-gonna-do-shit-about-it depression

This is a worthy description of how I feel. The appeal of the first two decades of life was the endless, positive potential, yet still feeling like it was always a ways off and you could just be in the moment and not worry. As an adult, I get that I can actualize things and that they take work to accomplish, which is very rewarding, even if there is frustration along the way.

That guy is a huge faggot and his de-aging quest clearly isnโ€™t working. He looks like Data from Star Trek.
