I’m on a weight loss journey at the moment. Pic related. I’m down 25 pounds so far. I’m on the carnivore diet taking all the extra supplements for what my body is missing during ketosis and carnivore.

I’m lifting 3x a week and doing cardio on my non lifting days for around an hour. Typically just a high tempo walk or a very slight jog.

I’ve gone from 34% bodyfat to 28% body fat so far, my target weight is somewhere between 165-170, optimally with under 20% bodyfat. I’m 5’8 29 years old.

My question is when the fuck am I gonna lose these hips? I feel like my mid section is turning out great but I have these fat hips that drive me crazy and make me look weird in any shirt smaller than an XL.

Is there a specific body fat percentage I’ll lose it by? Am I not doing workouts I should? Did I get fucked with the wide hip genetics?

Good progress, ditch the diet lift and do cardio in a deficit you'll look lean around 135lbs

they go at the very last, at least they did for me. A bit taller than you and I started loosing them at <160. If you touch your illiac crests while standing, and theres less than an inch of fat there, then they won't go away, you're kinda fucked and have to compensate with a strong upper body and core so they don't stand out too much. You will never get the small waist - broad shoulder aesthetic though.

I wanted to stop losing weight around 165-170, you think I’d have to go lower?

Can I go lower than 165 to lose that fat and then build my weight back up with muscle to accomplish my goal?

It's what forms your adonis belt basically with the muscle there. The bony edge is unchangeable however, it should normally be right around the height of the navel, a bit lower.

Some people naturally build a lot of fat there, but some people just have very wide strutting out illiac crests. A big reason why some women look like a fridge is when their illiac crest width is big and their hipjoint distance is low

Well, what do you weight rn? I saw the most progress there when I started going under 165 and I went as low as 155. Definitely be careful with alcohol as you bulk and gain muscle as I feel like that naturally makes you gain more fat in that region.
Also wide hips/illiac crests aren't necessarily bad, imo they're able to make you have a huge core if you work it out and it was certainly a beauty ideal in greek times

I’m at 187 now which is the right side of the OP pic.

Here is my profile progress which I’m very happy about, it’s mostly the front facing that bothers me even though I’m loving my progress in my chest and tummy regions. Just those fucking hips man..

I just stood up and felt around and I found the ridge your talking about. There’s probably about a half inch of blubber between the skin and the ridge with no tension applied. So practically what your saying is the hips will get better but not lean out into the typical V from chest to hips?

yea you're having great progress. I really wouldn't think too much about the hip problem. I feel like your initial target of 165 seems right, but you will see when you get there. just keep at it anon

just by you being lean? Probably no sadly.
As I said, you will need to a have a big upper body but you won't have smth like pic related. Their adonis belt is "normal" illiac with huge illiacus and psoas muscles

I personally find picrel more attractive anyway, so wide crests are really not that big of a problem if you aren't completely focused on getting that modern wasp waist build

Have you compared hip circumference measurements to see if anything changed? I have just been goggling this, for every kg lost you shed 0.8-1cm waist. I couldn't find statistics on hips but supposedly it follows the waist

And by hip I mean this in pic related. You can't change your hip bone if that's what you mean with "hips"
