Training at heart rates based on lactate thresholds at various levels, or zones, shows greater improvements in overall cardio health and endurance.
Primarily in zones 2 and 4 which are sub-lactate and lactate threshold. This should be seperated as about 80/20 of zone 2/4 respectively.
Sure you can have some fun training only zone 4, but you will only be improving in one single aspect of cardio health, not overall, sortof like only training your biceps with preacher curls and then complaining that you're entire upper body isn't growing.
