who are the masters that have taught you more in your fitness path? online or irl
Anonymous No.76353749 [Report]
Myself and gymbros. the longer we trained the more we took things serious about form, reps, diet and exercise selection. even back then, without all this scientific data it was crazy how much we did right from the start. we also made alot of mistakes, but the journey was fun, nit wasted.

I never liked Scooby. Lyle McDonald has done more to assuage my autistic pursuit of perfection than anyone, and that has been more helpful to me than anything because perfectionism is a mental illness and in my case counter-productive to good results.

Scooby is honestly great. I don't agree with him on everything, but probaby like 95% of stuff he says. Although I sometimes forget he's bodybuilding focused and all I care about is looking good whilst I fuck. He never overcomplicates it. I like Scott Herman too just because he has 30 second long videos (all from like 2012) where he just shows you how to do the lift. AthleanX and other "what you have to understand" faggots can fuck off. I've probably watched 100 AthleanX videos when I started out because he looks amazing for a 50 year old, but man he talks out of his ass.

yeah, it's pretty much all clickbait, it feels very insightful the first times you watch, but later you realize all the videos have the same structure and none of the information is really that useful long term

One of the dumbest things Scooby said is that bulking and cutting is unnecessary. That's how I know he's a pseud.

At the beginning, Alan Thrall and Al Kavadlo.

More recently, Natural Hypertrophy pretty much saved me from the more blackpill aspects of Nattyornot.

Cutting is gay and bulking just means getting back to a healthy weight after your gay cut.

Al Kavadlo should het more props. Pavel Tsatsouline taught me about GTG and the value of submaximal work. Scooby was a good dude, but I only loved him for the memes.

Initially, it was scooby and jason blaha (icf 5x5 was an insane program to start with). I got lucky and got into the aesthetics crew pretty soon after starting (christian guzman, rob lipsett, the og gymshark guys) and started focusing on a leaner, pussy soaking physique. Think I made the right choice since a lot of the starting strength and icf 5x5 dudes ended up turning into bloattards who were decently strong but fucked otherwise

One of the few things he is right about though. Unless you are a professinal bodybuilder on steroids getting ready for contest season then lean gains give better results

Taught me having fun is king, go all out and you will make gains (obviously tailor this advice to your fitness level)

Scooby for the over a decade then Mentzer since Oct 2024.

Basically rest long, go to failure, don't overlap, don't lift heavy due to joints

the biggest one is "Paul Wade" (probably a pen name), who wrote the book Convict Conditioning. That's what really got me started with fitness, after 2 failed attempts to attend a gym (quit after a few months because it just took too much time to get there)

Then there's Dr. Berg, who taught me enough about cell biology and nutrition to successfully reverse my type 2 diabetes. (not everything he promotes works or is healthy, so don't watch him if you're the blind follower type and not intelligent enough to do your own research on what he says)

As for youtubers I learned a few good things from, there are
Juggler Maro
CalisthenicMovement
FitnessFAQ's
The Bioneer
Jeff Nippard
Thomas DeLauer
Simonster

+1 for Scott Herman. No posturing and prancing about, just briefly and clearly explaining the exercise and correct form.

Yeah, only midwits care about tattoo. Not me and you.
Berg is obviously the name that raises alarms and he turns out to be a low effort content churning chiropractor fad dietitian money launderer lol.
