Gatorade can't still be the best overall electrolye supplement, right?
Reading reviews for nutricost electrolyte complex and one review says if you sweat a lot and drink enough of it the zinc content will kill you.
>>76361967What, something like 100 bottles in a 1 hour span? 5 bottles in a 20 minute span? Give us details anon
>>76361958 (OP)I think Liquid IV has the best mix of electrolytes.
>>76361985Apparently 5 mg of zince per serving which according to the reviewer could be toxic.
I myself can easily drink at least case of gatorade when spending most of my day outside during the summer here.
>>76361958 (OP)Can someone explain the point of sugarfree Gatorade to me? If you're exercising hard enough to need electrolytes, you'll also benefit from extra carbs.
Is it solely for those retarded tradies who insist that they need electrolytes to tile a floor or some shit?
Anyway, this is the best one I've found.
Lots of salt and 50g of carbs in 500mL.

>>76362048I will check this out
>>76362843If you are excercising hard enough, especially in the heat, you end up drinking like 100 grams of sugar
>>76363136You really drink Gay turd rape? Lol
thats not horse electrolytes
>>76363193no, you can only get that from horse semen
>>76363251lick my nigger testicles…?
>>76363136>you end up drinking like 100 grams of sugarCorrect. During cardio sessions lasting longer than 90 minutes you need 30-60g of carbs per hour to refill your glycogen stores, though recent studies suggest you can continue getting increasing benefits with 100g or even up to 180g per hour. And of course harder exercise means more carbs.
But let me guess, you aren't really "exercising", are you? You're not drinking this stuff during a marathon, you're just out playing catch with your kids.
The fact is, you're just fat. You have no need for any of this.
>>76363328Cardio is determined by heart rate etc
A 6 minute mile is a literal walk to some people and a heart attack for others
>>76363333Sure. If you're too fat to run, you don't need this stuff. Once you actually are doing long runs, then you can pick it back up again.
>>76363339Stop with this one hour run shit no serious athlete does that outside of marathon runners who literally run sub 5 min miles the entire time
I had a stomach bug recently and I spammed Gatorade to avoid getting dehydrated
A lot of blue diarrhea but it kept me hydrated
>>76361958 (OP)It's not the best from a nutritional perspective, but it's probably the best tasting.
>>76363328I work outside and i lift outside hot and humid conditions. I thought your glycogen wouldnt deplete in a day if you were carbed up.
>>76363343Literally every runner with any consistency is doing a weekly long run.
Go to /run/ and ask them.
I've been doing a weekly long run (plus two easy runs and an interval session) ever since I was doing about 7 min/km. Which if you don't know, is pretty slow.
Sorry anon, but you're just fat. You're trying to justify drinking this stuff because it tastes good, but you just don't need it. Would you like some recommendations for energy gels while you're at it?
>>76363364You're right, your glycogen won't deplete during the day.
Unless... You're running (or doing a similar endurance activity). Likewise with electrolytes, you get more than enough salt from a modern diet, you just simply don't need to supplement it.
The power of marketing never ceases to amaze me.
>>76363344This is also a great use case for Gatorade.
>>76363385>Likewise with electrolytes, you get more than enough salt from a modern diet, you just simply don't need to supplement it.Maybe you do, but i crave salt constantly and get headaches no matter how much i put in my food. Goes away when i become sendentary or it cools down.
>>76363396Oh nooo, you crave salt? That means it must be good for you! I'm craving a double cheeseburger with a milkshake and some onion rings, that means it must be exactly what my body needs.
Eat a banana, you fat fuck. It has more than enough electrolytes for you. Or is it somehow healthier when it's in the form of a sweetened drink?
>>76363405>Oh nooo, Stopped reading right here
>>76363417Your heart must have stopped because it ran out of salt. Better drink another Gatorade, then you'll be ready to finish the sentence.
Out of curiosity, what's your blood pressure like?
>>76363372I ran 12 seasons of distance running in hs we rarely ran over 5 miles
Go fuck off to your Pilates class the real athletes are talking
>>76363405Cravings mean you do need something
Food is only bad when it’s eating because you are bored
I lol at all these faggots here talking about diets real athletes eat McDonalds and shit all the time the only people who don’t are women and roid trannies
>>76361958 (OP)Gatorade was never really that good, it has a lot of bad shit in it. Make your own electrolyte drink or buy coconut water
>>76363443No, it just means you're addicted to ultra-processed food.
>>76363440Distance running usually means races of 5k and up. A lot of 400-800m runners will run similar distances to you, but nobody who's regularly racing 10ks and halves is running such short distances during training.
>>76363447It’s good for medium intensity shit like lifting etc
It’s called Gatorade because it was developed for the Florida gators
If you are doing serious cardio just drink water your body will create the electrolytes from the salt in your food I ate tons of chips and drank water when I ran
>>76363458Oh ok what distance did you run in hs what was your time
>>76363462I only got into running about a year ago as an adult. I still consider myself a beginner, my 5k time is 24:49.
I only eat food during my long runs, which are 16-18 km at about 6:00/km.
>>76362843T2 diabetics exercising to get their blood glucose better under control and/or improve their insulin sensitivity is one group I can think of. folks trying to lose weight via "diet and exercise" who don't want to drink their calories is another.
>>76363467And lol 5k time I bet you run on flat ground
Real 5ks are in the woods with inclines like on our home course so steep you basically climb up them
>>76362098I occasionally take 25- 50 mg of zinc, this reviewer is a retarded.

Real 5ks are run in places like graveyards
See this hill part of the 5k lol don’t die
>>76363475>>76363491Sounds like fun. The hilliest track I regularly run on only has ~70m of elevation gain over 5k.
What were/are your race times? It sounds like you don't run any more, why did you stop?

>>76361958 (OP)>Gatorade can't still be the best overall electrolye supplement, right?I probably drank a water tower's worth of lime gatorade during my life but I moved to this one. How can this be beaten? It's better than preworkout. Just cane sugar, vitamins and electrolytes.
A physically active person in hot, humid conditions can sweat:
1.5 to 3 liters per hour (average: 2 L/hour)
In 2–3 hours of heavy activity: 3 to 6+ liters total
In that sweat, you can lose (per liter):
Sodium: 800–1200 mg
Potassium: ~200–300 mg
Magnesium & calcium: smaller amounts (10–50 mg)
So in a long, sweaty session:
Sodium loss: 2,400–7,200 mg
Potassium loss: 600–1,800 mg
---
How Much Electrolyte Does Gatorade Replenish?
Regular Gatorade (20 oz bottle):
Sodium: ~270 mg
Potassium: ~75 mg
Sugars: ~34g
So you'd need:
Sodium: To replace 2,400–7,200 mg 9 to 27 bottles
Potassium: For 600–1,800 mg 8 to 24 bottles
That’s way too much sugar and fluid to get all your electrolytes from Gatorade alone.
---
Better Strategy:
1. Drink Water + Use Electrolyte Tabs/Powders:
Try zero-sugar options like LMNT, Liquid I.V., DripDrop, or Nuun.
These provide 1000+ mg sodium per serving without all the sugar.
2. Add Salt to Food or Water:
A pinch of sea salt + lite salt (adds potassium) can help hydrate faster.
Mix your own rehydration drink:
1 liter water
1/2 tsp salt (~1,150 mg sodium)
1/4 tsp lite salt (~350 mg potassium)
Optional: 1 tbsp sugar + splash of lemon/lime
3. Rehydrate Gradually:
Drink 1 liter per hour of intense activity.
For each liter of sweat, aim to replace:
1000 mg sodium
200–300 mg potassium
---
Summary
Activity Duration Sweat Loss Gatorade Needed Better Alternative
1 hour ~2 L ~6–8 bottles 1–2 servings of electrolyte powder
3 hours ~6 L ~18–24 bottles 3–4 servings electrolyte mix + salty food/water
---
If you’re doing this daily, I’d strongly suggest ditch standard Gatorade and switch to high-electrolyte, low-sugar alternatives, or homemade hydration mixes to protect your performance and health.
Let me know your exact schedule (hours worked, hours lifted) and I can calculate your ideal hydration/electrolyte plan.
