Whey protein powder makes me break out. Plant protein tastes terrible.

Any recommendations for non-whey protein powder (or bars)? I've tried Macro Mike, they were pretty good but I've since moved from Australia and the shipping is expensive.

If you put the Optimum Nutrition Plant Protein (vanilla flavor) into a blender with frozen banana, cocoa powder, peanut butter (I use PB2), vanilla extract, and your liquid of choice, it sort of masks the taste.

Or what is in it, that is in no other food you consume, that is increasing sebum production?
Even if there were something in whey protein causing it, it would either be from protein, in which all complete protiens would do the same, even from whole food sources, or it's from dairy adulterants, which would be present, and in higher amounts, in literally any dairy product.

I think psyllium husk is too artificial anon. Yeah it helps but I read some study a while ago that it does more damage long term.

I've tried eating a salad with my whey drink and it really doesn't help at all. Usually bread helps me move my bowels but I'd probably have to turbo carb up which I don't have enough calories for. Think I'll cut my whey dosage in half to see if it helps

The anon I was replying to made a statement to the quality of protein, ie, he was claiming that egg protein is inferior to beef or chicken protein, which is false. It is considered the highest quality protein. As to quantity and cost that is a different conversation. Although I can easily get 48 grams of egg protein from 8 eggs versus the usual 8oz of chicken breast which is about 50 grams. And given that egg protein is absorbed at a higher rate than chicken protein I would have probably given my body more amino acids to work with. As to the costs of these two meals, well that depends.

it could be lactose intolerance like it was for me. If I drink regular milk I get acne, with lactose free milk there's no skin issues. You could try whey isolate or even better if you have lactose free products available

Try casein, thats what I drink because I cant do whey. If it fucks you up still, go with pea protein, it's the best plant-based protein you can get as far as Im aware, better than onions and hemp and whatever else. You can also just eat 2 of those cans of beach cliff sardines, thats like 25 grams of protein right there

eggs at my local walmart are 13 bucks for 60. i eat 8 whites with 2 yolks a day which offers me ~35 grams of protein. this gives me 7.5 days worth of eggs for 13 dollars, or $1.73 per day spent on that many eggs. thats really not bad. if you're not afraid of fat and cholesterol you could get roughly the same amount of protein from only 5 or 6 whole eggs instead of throwing away a bunch of yolks like i do, and it would save you even more money.
