>>76381326> but your muscles don't look particularly impressive for the amount of effort you presumably put in.Yeah that's key here. The first time in my life I went to the gym was about 5 years ago, when I was 28. I am now turning 33 in a few weeks. The first year of gym I pissed around, doing lifts with too light of a weight, and not trying very hard. I'd go for 4 weeks straight, then not go for 3 weeks, then go for a week, then not go for 2 weeks, then go for 2 days, then not go for 2 months, then I'd go for 5 months. Extreme inconsistency.
The second year I was much more consistent, but I did not put in a solid year's worth of training. 2024 was by far my most productive year, where I went every day from Feb to about October.
I think my progress is exactly what you'd expect honestly knowing how hard I've tried. There was a period last year where I was substantially bigger at about 87kg (I'm 80kg in the pic.)
If I had gone 100% for 5 years, then yeah it would be pretty bad. But all I wanted was to stop being a skeleton, and for girls to actually like my body. I accomplished that goal. But maybe I should just go all out for a few years to see what my body is capable of before I hit my late 30s.
