Imagine eating so little meat that you need a b12 supplement. Even before i worked out i was 2 times over average.

Think that's all you really need. Maybe vit C as well, especially if you are sick or injured, you can't overdose on it anyways
If I use iodized salt, do I really need an iodine supp?
>>76382380
I still supp B12 but probably just piss it all out

the only one worth taking on there is creatine
the rest you can get from actually living a healthy lifestyle

No supplements are worth taking because they have lead in them, literally just eat good food.

Simplify with a good all in one multi vitamin like life extension. It will save you money. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and have tried most supplements by now, I have walls of them, and let me tell you this: they're almost all useless.

Bare minimum list:

- all in one multi vitamin (it will cover zinc, all b vitamins, some magnesium, some vit d, everything else usually except vit K2 and iron. Don't worry about k2.)
- omega 3 (get enteric coated for your stomach)
- creatine

optional:
- melatonin (3 ug timed release)
- potassium and/or iron depending on your diet -- neither are in multivitamins.

The idea with supplements is to make up for what you don't get in your diet. Most people eat random crap so they can't properly access whether they get enough nutrients. But if you lift you have a set diet, so you can measure what you get. Make sure you get enough potassium and magnesium. Western diets are very lacking in these nutrients.

Assess your own risk for vit d. There are "fortified" foods with some vit d in it but generally unless you get 30 mins sun light each day, you might not get enough. Seriously though. Don't overdo the supplements.

You should never take high doses of potassium in pills. It will fuck you up. Mix your sodium with 1/3 of potassium chloride if you are on it. But the best way is rich in potassium foods

Collagen is just amino acids.
Taking MSN and upping C intake is good, but Collagen isn't a bad protein supplement if its cheap.

>>76384756
Salt replacement such as NoSalt or Seltin is already mostly Potassium salt.
Similarly you need a source of DHA if you are taking lions mane or Urudine long term, and possibly chlonin if you are not eating enough eggs.

Multi's are also bad, for the less obvious reason that vitamins and minerals that offset D3 should not contain D3.
Nor should it contain vitamins and minerals that counter effect absorb. .

You need to add selenium for iodine. You need to watch for your copper if you are taking zinc

not really. Sodium is meant to be in the ratio of 1:2 potassium. Most diets are already sodium rich due to processed junk but people don't get enough potassium. If you get potassium gummies they typically have potassium citrate in them. The daily recommendation for potassium is about 3.5 grams of elemental potassium, but potassium citrate doesn't map 1 to 1 in terms of elementary potassium. I mean to say that 1 gram of potassium citrate is only about 400 mg of elementary potassium. So if you have 1 - 2 grams of potassium citrate per day and eat a few potassium rich food items like bananas and potatoes you can reach closer to the amount. But you're not going to OD unless you take a large amount of potassium citrate. Elemental potassium pills could be dangerous if you took tons of them I guess, since the OD range is like a gram higher than RD and clinically its hard to reverse if you take too much.
