Any other /fit/ guys feel kind of embarrassed wearing revealing clothes in public? Like tanktops, cutoffs, etc. outside of the gym - at the grocery store or out on a stroll or whatever?

I don't care about triggering fatties or their feelings, it's more that it kind of feels like I'm turning being fit into my personality. Like yeah I train hard and work hard for my body etc., but there's more to me than that. I don't really feel the need to show it off. Plus 99% of the compliments I get are from other dudes.

You can wear what you want, but I personally find shirts like your pic douchy, and cutoffs to be noticeably gay in general public. A tank top is fine if it's like 90+ degrees. I also think that people out in public in sleepwear are trashy as fuck too, so I just have higher social etiquette standards than most.

I hate this sentiment. Like there are plenty of both men and women out in public wearing tanktops or other sleeveless shirts. But when I do it, it's apparently a faux pas because I'm muscular and therefore being a douche.

There is a difference between shit that properly fits and the gay ass shit in your pic.

And dress shirt collars. Typically tight in the chest as well, you get that sternum button crease. A tie will help cover that and you can sometimes get away with your collar button undone that way.

baggy shirts and pants is better, you can see the outline of your muscles more. if you’re genuinely lean then go for tighter clothes

Just dress modest, 3/4 shorts or you can roll up khakis to below your knees. Baggy sweatpants and XL tees, nothing wrong with that.

This. It is one of the more freeing feelings, when you simply wear whatever you like to whatever event. Also, if anything, being fit aids this.

Lmao I bought an 'athletic fit' shirt the other day and it was too tight in the chest and neck but still way too loose in the waist. The size up was like a tent

This Deano look went out of fashion pretty quickly thank god. Showing your physique is fine, just do not wear skin tight clothes, ever. It looks tryhard.

I never understand the whole appeal to pants that stop above the ankles, along with clunky running shoes. Why is this a trend?

depends if it fits your style and personality, I don't like to flaunt or to grab attention so at most I wear clothes that show off my gains subtly. Don't overthink it, if you don't feel comfortable wearing something just don't do it

No, and furthermore I am sick of the double standard where women, even obese ones, are allowed to wear very skimpy clothing in public but somehow I am gay/a whore for having visible shoulders

>it kind of feels like I'm turning being fit into my personality.
As opposed to what? What would you prefer your personality be centered around? If it's anything other than being fit, then you need to focus less on your fitness and more on that thing.

I used to show off a lot, then I went to Japan where nobody gives a single shit that your body looks good, everybody just wears massive t-shirts, and working out is a gay subculture thing.

I haven't cared as much about mogging since, but I do still keep the same physique

I've found that there's really only one main group of people who think it's douchy to dress in a way that shows off your physique, and that's mainly insecure men. Otherwise, the reactions I get, from both men and women, are overwhelmingly positive. That said, if you are reasonably big, you still get positive reactions in loose-fitting clothes.

Imo the more fit you are, the less revealing your clothes even need to be. It'll show through your clothes if it's properly fitted and such. Just roll your sleeves, women love it.

I’ve reached the size where, in properly fitted clothing—tailored shirts and slacks—it’s still very obvious that I am large and muscular. My casual clothing is somewhat tight, but that’s mostly because I have to choose between “slightly too tight in certain places” and “comically loose in certain places” for anything I buy off the rack. It still doesn’t look as extreme as your pic though.

Random men, especially gay men, will give me compliments and make positive comments out of the blue. Random women basically never do.

One thing that surprised me is, especially if I’m dressed in more casual, tight/revealing clothes, is that some guys seem to want to start shit with me. It’s always smaller guys, I guess trying to be tough or look tough. I don’t really get it though.

Tank tops and cutoffs are fine year round if you don’t live in some middle American shithole. Doesn’t have to be hot. Florida California and NYC during the summer are filled with straight normal dudes who wear shorts, tank tops, and flip flops regularly. I fucking swear midwesterners see a dude in sandals and their closeted foot fetish immediately activates.

Women literally wear whatever they want whenever they want and you will get shamed by their army of betas if you call them out on it. So do whatever the fuck you want

I felt embarrassed last weekend when my gf's old crush turned up with his gf at our pre drinks and was buffer than me, despite being smaller and way less defined a mere 6 months ago. He had coped shoulders and 17" arms, in January he has like 14.5"/15"ers.
He's fucking diabetic too, what changed?
