I used to work out on and off through my 20s to 22 but for the past 2 years I have been on hiatus with life stuff. I am now in a situation where I work 4 - 6 days a week on a 07:00 to 19:00 shift pattern where I wake up at 06:00 in the morning to get to work and end up back home by 19:30. However, by the time I have eaten and done chores I am realistically free to do what I want by 21:30 - 22:00 which coupled with my issues with sleep means I get realistically 6 - 5 hours of broken sleep which gets worse when I am more tired (it's complicated). With this routine is it even practical, let alone possible, to lift weights?

I am on keto which has helped with my weight but I do think from time to time whether I should try to work out again. I can't quit my job because I am in a rare position of earning around $80k annually and if I did there is unlikely anyone as physically or mentally qualified to do my job (I do personal care for people who are deemed a risk to themselves and the public. Men who on 7 different medications for sedation but can still overpower 2 to 1 staff during a mental episode). Should I just wait until my circumstances in life change or is there some other option I am not considering?

Sounds pretty fucked. But should be able to get some decent workouts in on the 4-day weeks, and on the six-day weeks, can at least do something light-ish at home? Probably not going to grow a ton, but likely some since you haven't lifted in two years. And if nothing else, will keep you from losing any more muscle mass until situation is better.d2mhr
