There's literally zero reason to ever do flat bench press instead of incline.
You will never have an overdeveloped upper chest.

Maybe learn to hit upper chest better? I mean i might be lying or wrong here but 60+% of all my pressing is flat bench because it takes less effort to brace and i just do flatback a lot and am good at actually nailing hypertrophy, you want form tips or something?

do not exist here
it's either commercial equipment that's been specially shipped, so it's 5x as expensive as it should be and you don't even get the commercial customer service
or it's box welded chink shit that doesn't sit flat, and isn't rated for more than 130kg, and still costs a retarded amount of cash

Machines might not give you a good pump, none of them are made for the same person or allow you to alter rom at all besides panatta shit that seems cool.

But youre missing upper chest doms from properly engaging knuckles and pushing in with them like a fly. Now how to translate a movement that a least indomt like to do heavy into heavy form idk why youd do it, but yeah rom and shit.

>3-5x1-4 bench, chest hyperteophy style but wide grip
>pullups just all day and rows 2-3 sets after bench before arms/delts etc
>db skullcrushers and tri grip bar, i went into the gym and could do 1 rep of 110 one day after no cable training
>strict hyperteophy incline and delts, i seem to only grow with freq work and going 100% just takes me out of the gym

literally false. i have seen so many guys with comical upper chest and then completely nothing, nada zip zero in the middle / lower half of the chest. it looks like absolute fucking shit and gives that sloppy droopy gyno look.

imo almost everyone should do just decline. or just normal bench is the golden mean but you really cant go wrong with switching incline to decline.

IMPORTANT THREAD QUESTION:
There's two different techniques for incline bench, lowering the bar straight down vertically (hitting the clavicle), or lowering it like normal bench (hitting on the chest). Proponents of both swear their method targets the upper chest more, but which do you use/which is better? I've looked at training videos from various Mr Olympia level bodybuilders and both seem equally common.

you're right, but dont take this to mean you shouldn't hit flat bench. you still need to hit your lower chest

>>76387238
that's perfectly fine.

In the somewhat likely case you feel like you get weird shoulder clicking or elbow pain, it could be useful to drop weight on flat bench and/or do barbell/dumbbell incline (or even dumbbell flath bench) to target stabilizer muscles

Also, for most ppl benching below 2 plates you should incorporate facepulls/some other rear delt exercise on your pull days--super important for properly retracting your scapula during bench

do at least 5 sets of some incline press on your chest days

>>76388715
ehhh it depends on how wide your grip is, and also you might be misinterpreting what's going on. when you ever do any type of pressing motion you should have the bar traveling in a straight path. when your grip is wider, you will naturally bias your upper chest more and less of your triceps. trade off is that it's uncomfortable and you probably have undeveloped stabilizer muscles that could you to start frauding your reps as the weight gets shifted away from your upper chest.

To clavicle is upper to mid pec and almost no lower and to nipples just above the sternum is less upper, more mid and just the tip of lower pec(but not full lower pec).
>HURR DURR YOU CAN'T HIT DIFFERENT STRAINS OF YOUR PEC MUSCLE
YES! YES you can do incline until you have DOMS and try to do pull-ups or chin-ups the next day, you will feel your upper pec giving out but you still can do push-ups(which are more lower pec) same with glutes, just because it's grouped together doesn't mean you can't activate it differently.
