Dips don't hurt my shoulders, but for whatever reason it annihilates my inner chest/sternum. Not the muscles but the skeleton itself. Now when I do high pullups it tears my chest. I think it's causing breathing problems too with any chest related exercise. All I did today was core exercises and backbends, and now it gave me a tight feeling in my chest and shortness of breath. Usually after dips I'll start coughing chronically throughout the day. After every rep it feels like there's a meat hook pulling down on my entire lower chest. Some people just aren't anatomically suited for them.
