Dips don't hurt my shoulders, but for whatever reason it annihilates my inner chest/sternum. Not the muscles but the skeleton itself. Now when I do high pullups it tears my chest. I think it's causing breathing problems too with any chest related exercise. All I did today was core exercises and backbends, and now it gave me a tight feeling in my chest and shortness of breath. Usually after dips I'll start coughing chronically throughout the day. After every rep it feels like there's a meat hook pulling down on my entire lower chest. Some people just aren't anatomically suited for them.

I used to have the same problem. I guess Iโ€™m strong enough now I donโ€™t feel it but idk if I would with weighted dips. Lower chest over development makes you look like a pregnant woman anyway. Dips are unnecessary.

sternum tendonitis, the sternum is connected via cartilage so its susceptable to tendonitis when its under pressure/stretched
I got it from doing heavy pull overs.

Goes away after a few weeks of rest but it sucks

Jesus, anon. Why did you wait so long to stop? Were you awaiting death before deciding to move onto another exercise?

The lower I go the more I'll feel it. The instant I hit 90 degrees it starts

Pulling exercises hurt it.

I haven't done chest since last Thursday. All I did today was mobility and backbends. But arching my thoracic spine triggered the feeling. There's no pain just shortness of breath. I think it's causing anxiety too. If I move my chest a certain way when I lay down I get flutters

sternum pain is common when you first start doing dips. maybe try lifting longer than a few months lil bro.
