>fast for 2 days
>lose a pound of fat
>instantly gain back whatever little muscle you actually lost due to muscle memory
What are the downsides?

>fast days make me uselessly retarded and irritable
>can't (or shouldn't) exercise on fast days
That's pretty much it, it's just extreme cutting. If you find it sustainable to fast a couple days a week then do it, just take a multi and maybe some electrolytes. I'm curious how the muscle loss would compare to just cutting normally though.

As a new lifter i progressed in lifts even while fasting throughout the month of Ramadan. I still went to the gym 4 times a week for the month, no cheating, going hard.
You stamina gets fucked. You can lift just fine, but now you definitely feel every second during your rest period.
Compared to previous fasts when i wasnt lifting, i wasnt more tired after lifting or anything (i lift during midday).
Checking In-Body scans, i lost both a significant amount of fat as well as some muscle mass, though according to anons, its mainly water weight and glycogen from the dry fast.
Mainly speaking for long periods and also dry fasting but hope it helps anyways.

>Ramadan
>eating once or twice a day
barely counts as fasting unless you add other restrictions of your own accord

Yeah this is the problem. My job depends on mental performance and being nice to people.
