I thought walking would be a good exercise because you can do it literally anywhere but it takes forever to get anywhere and doesn't even burn that many calories
Eat less, that's literally all you need to do

Walking isn't exercise, it's the norm.
Walking for an hour or 2 shouldn't be an achievement you expect a reward for. It's something you should be doing every day because it's what healthy functioning humans do.
