I used to be obsessed with pull ups, got to 3x5 with 60kg added at 100kg bodyweight, then i got an injury and couldn't do pull ups for a few months.
I could still row withot pain so i replaced them with barbell rows and my back got so much bigger and stronger when i prioritized barbell rows, dumbbell rows, i've dropped pull ups almost completely now.
I also feel like pull ups make you stronger only at pull ups, they don't transfer that well to anything else really.

What if the reverse happen that you where obsessed with rows, got injured and then changed to pull ups?
