why should you change your lifting routine after hopping on gear?
lifting natty is fundamentally harder, so once you've cracked the code in terms of what volume and cadence your genetics respond to best while in "natty mode", shouldn't that also be the most effective in "gear mode"? It's like, a meta developed while playing a game on hardest difficulty will still be the most effective meta at lowest difficulty, in fact it will be turbo effective.
Only read the first paragraph.
Because gear allows far more work capacity than an natural could do. You can go to failure nearly every set training 6 days a week with peds. Good luck doing that naturally.
Using a routine for Natty's leaves gains on the table if you're enhanced. Using an enhanced routine as a natty will just lead to backsliding and poor performance after a week or two.
Back when I was weak I could squat 315 for 8x3 with accessories after 3 days a week. Now if I try that with 400 I can't even do two sets because I don't recover between the day of rest.
As the other anon said, it's all about recovery and work capacity.
"Optimized" natty lifting leaves gains on the table if you become enhanced, simple-as. Increase volume.
PEDs give you a 500% increase in metabolism/recovery/muscle growth/etc., allowing you to train more often and more intensely.
They literally do the work for you.

Dorian Yates mentioned training 4 times a week is optimal and enhanced guys could get away with it, but he still trained 4 days a week because he would rather train optimally steroids or not. Take that how you will.
