Have any of you ever been addicted to lifting? Like really addicted to the point where it hinders your ability to do daily tasks and your own goals

I'm a NEET and it has gotten to the point where I prioritize going to the gym above anything else like finding a job, going out, daily task and being social. Fucking can't even drink a beer now and then because I'm afraid it'll hurt my gains.. Any help?

Sort of, yeah. I only do two things for fun: work out and get high. I go to my dead end job to afford a membership, food and pills. I'm doing great on my bulk, training hard and adding pounds to the bar. The rest of my day is either forcing calories down my throat or laying in bed zooted out of my mind, since it barely hinders gains and helps me kill time until the next workout.
I just wish more things in life were as fun and rewarding as lifting.

My biggest problem is the constant pissing after lifting that fucks me up.
I stopped taking pre and while things have gotten better no matter how I drink or don't drink for some reason the two hours after lifting I am constantly running to piss.

Look at Jason Blaha to see what you will turn in to if you continue on that path. Perhaps that will scare you in to taking action to not become the ultimate gymcel

>>76409299
If not due to caffeine consumption might be depleting your salt levels. Try eating more salt

yeah in my late 20s if I would lift hard for more than two weeks I'd start sleeping for +10 hours

You're addicted to it because it replaces the structure of a job
Of course trying to find a job is much harder than going to the gym and doing your workout, so you're just using it as easy escapism

Not trying to be a dick head, a genuine question. Are you jacked? Are you strong? You can be honest with me. I've often wondered if "gym addicts" are usually big
> inb4 are you retarded? They're addicted lifting!
I feel like gym addicts are separate population from other lifters and I'm not sure if they are supposed to be chuds or something

unironically just get a home gym setup man
I had to sell half my stuff and only have weights, bars, and plates now but I still lift every single day about an hour after waking up
I actually just decided today that I'm gonna start lifting twice per day until I get a job and quit neeting

this is me
Isolating myself from the world for 2 hours at a time with just some nice music in my ears doing physically intensive stuff that requires an empty mind is addicting

How much is this is addiction to gym rather than addiction to avoiding growing up. If you are a NEET you likely have a lot of pressures into getting a job. I suspect you are autistic or some other syndrome that makes it hard for you to live independently so going to the gym which is very structured, very safe, and very calming is 'addictive' because you are using it to hide from life.

In reality you arent addicted to the gym as much as you are addicted to running away from your problems. People that do this type of avoiding problems will also be workaholics and such. I suspect you'd be one of those if you had a job

how can the gym prevent you from doing other stuff? Even if you go daily, it is at max as 3 hour commitment (including shower, going to/from gym, training itself). What exactly do you do for the rest of the day?

You read me like an open book. I spent every hour at the office till late night to avoid going home, when I had a job. Yes autistic, yes gym provide structure. But the fuck do I get out of all this?

>>76410133
4chan, sleeping, some kickboxing, cooking, gym for 3 hours, everything but facing my problems are guess.

>>76410071
I'm big but not steroids big. Still natty

>>76409680
true, it's weird cuz most people should go the the gym, but the best thing for me would be to avoid it
